Got this item yesterday, today I traced a wire which would have taken me awhile to find. I found a problem within minutes. A must have in every garage.

Easy to use well Made

Overall item looks good, well made, but after abitof research, not used due to electrical issue on my car is common fault. So I decided to replace the tailgate wiring harness instead.

Why did you choose this product over others?: I’ve a broken wire somewhere in the wiring loom between my car’s engine control unit and one of the injectors. I bought this to try and find the break but to be honest, it is nothing more than a noise maker. No matter how many times I ran the “wand” up and down the loom, even switching positions from top of the loom to the bottom, all I got was a constant drone that didn’t pinpoint the break. So I ended up buying new wire and running it from the ECU to the injector bypassing the broken wire which fixed the issue. This gadget is utterly useless for automotive purposes and has been returned.

What a useful tool to have to hand

Disappointed with the performance. Ok for some tasks but not tracing in a loom.

Worked as expected. First use was chasing an electrical fault on a modified industrial vehicle with no available diagrams. Saved a lot of time not having to chase wires or open the loom.

Très belle autillage

I've been happy with this tool so far. It was easy to set up, connected quickly, and the menus were easy enough to figure out without spending a bunch of time reading through the manual. It has done everything I've needed it to do. I bought it mainly to work on my 2008 Mini Cooper S. The car had a no-start issue, and after checking power and grounds, I used this tool to see why the DME wasn't communicating. It helped narrow it down to a shorted wire in the DME wiring harness, which ended up being the actual problem. That alone saved me a lot of time chasing parts that weren't bad. If you do your own repairs and diagnostics, this is a solid tool to have. It's easy to use, has plenty of features for the price, and has already paid for itself on one repair. I'd definitely buy it again.

Wer sich schon mal stundenlang mit einem Multimeter durch den Motorraum gesucht hat, weiß, wie nervenaufreibend das sein kann. Was soll ich sagen? Dieses Gerät hat sich bereits beim ersten Einsatz komplett bezahlt gemacht! Lieferumfang & Verarbeitungsqualität Das Set wird komplett einsatzbereit geliefert (Sender, Empfänger und Testkabel). Die Haptik ist für diese Preisklasse (unter 40 €) wirklich gut: Das Gehäuse wirkt robust und hält auch mal einen Sturz in der Werkstatt aus. Besonders gut gefällt mir die biegsame Sonde am Empfänger – damit kommt man selbst an extrem enge und verwinkelte Stellen unter dem Armaturenbrett oder in den Türdurchführungen. Funktion & Praxistest Die Handhabung ist extrem intuitiv und denkbar einfach: 1. Sender an den stromlosen oder zu prüfenden Stromkreis/Kabel anschließen (deckt von 6V bis 42V DC alles ab). 2. Mit dem Empfänger den Kabelstrang entlangfahren. 3. Das Tonsignal zeigt genau an, wo der Strom fließt. Bricht der Ton ab oder verändert er sich, hat man die Unterbrechung oder den Kurzschluss punktgenau auf wenige Zentimeter lokalisiert. Kein unnötiges Aufschneiden von intakten Isolierungen oder Kabelbäumen mehr!
