I was surprised at the size of the base but then the castle grew so big on top of it. I liked how you test the rotation of the pieces so often. Making sure the pieces are aligned and balanced. Sanding is essential and waxing to ensure all work smoothly. Loved assembling this project.

Difficult to assemble because of machining but good for the patient builder

I have completed many of these wooden puzzle/model kits and this one was by far the best. The parts were accurately cut and fitting them together was precise. The instructions were adequate. The finished product was beautiful. I wish there were more such kits that fit so well. It was fun and a real value.

Bought this for my Dad who is a retired engineer. Keeps him occupied for a few days. He enjoys putting these together. Will buy more for him!

I have constructed dozens of these kits: marble runs, buildings, ships, monuments, vehicles, etc from all of the companies who sell them on Amazon, and this one by far is the most beautiful and satisfying of them all. Over 1,000 parts, many of them very small and delicate, easy to break, but fortunately many of the more fragile parts have duplicates. There are many gears of all sizes that need to be carefully waxed to move smoothly, but I have found, in my own experience, that the small sping wind up motor does not have nearly enough power to run all the dozens of gears plus the music box. I had to bypass the movements in the center tower in order that the other five or six towers could have continuous non-jerky movement. The end result does not in any way take away from the overall effect of the moving parts. Even without the movement, the appearence of this enginering and artistic marvel is stunning. It is truly a piece that deserves a prominent place in your home. Those who see it are amazed, as I continue to be whenever I look at it closely. The detail is incredible. I was at first reluctant to pay the higher than average price for this creation, but now I believe it is well worth it. Just take your time and don't rush. Enjoy the great experience of seeing it take form under your careful, patient hands.

This puzzle packs a bang for its buck. There’s a gazillion pieces (I believe the boards went all the way to the letter S to give you an idea of how many boards there are) and the directions are super well done.Take your time with this puzzle and it’ll pay off. With the more fragile pieces (such as the wrappable wooden “sleeves”), the key is to wet them with water, let them sit for 10-20 seconds and then try to fit them into the puzzle. I’d also encourage using an exacto knife to help punch out more fragile pieces.On the whole I am so absolutely delighted by this puzzle. It was so much fun!!

This was very fun to build. I took my time as I was not in a hurry to finish and when it was done, I wished it had a thousand more pieces. I showed off the finished product and people were in awe. Would definitely buy more from this company.
