Shapton Glass Stone 1000 Grit 5mm

This is a great stone. I found it easy to use, and very responsive to pressure. For most use I think this is the finest grit I will need, for things like kitchen knives, and for most pocket knives. This is a quality product.

I wasn’t sure whether to buy this as they’re quite expensive but the difference between this and cheaper stones is like night and day. They do exactly what they say they’ll do in that they cut much more quickly so that you don’t have to maintain an angle for as long.The 1000 grit stone will achieve an edge which will be more than adequate for most cooks. I’ve got a selection of Yaxell knives and they’re very nearly as sharp as they were when they came out of the factory.Beautiful stones and well worth the extra cost.

I've moved from diamond stones over to these for knife and chisel sharpening.They're nice stones and cut well, i'll pick a couple more up in the future but not from Amazon, these prices are obscene, they're 40 to 50% cheaper if you shop around.
