Hard to explain why I love this.
A long time ago, in a lifetime far away, I was in the Army. I was a Combat Engineer. It was there I learned the advantage that some ropes, pulleys, and rigging could provide. Mechanical advantage is a great force multiplier.I do not mountain climb or do anything you would expect with this and other hardware. I am currently tearing apart a porch that was smashed under a tree felled in a storm. It can’t be rebuilt until it is cleared. This Carabiner is used to connect the straps I wrap around the debris so it can be pulled clear with pulleys and a Capstan Winch. Yes. I am abusing this equipment and using it how it is not designed. However this Carabiner connected to the Snatch Block and had in excess of 8,000 pounds of force on it and it held firm. I can’t say exactly how much, but before I added the snatch block the 8,000 limit of my rigging did not pull the debris clear. The winch overheated and safety cut out to protect it. Once I added the snatch block it moved the debris clear so I could continue breaking it up to be transported to the dump.It was within the reported strength of the Carabiner so I felt confident it would hold. I liked it so much I just ordered another one.I can say it is easy to use, strong, and quite useful to me. Even though as old as I am mountain climbing isn’t on my list of activities. It should hold up to what you plan on doing with it.

Good quality well made
I don’t use it for climbing. I use it to hook up a rope pulley so it doesn’t get a lot of use. Heavy duty and well made.

Bueno
It works well, it's made of a rather thick material and looks durable, it worked for what I neededThe only complaint I have is that the original package of the piece was already broken apparently someone had opened it before.

Super Strong Shackle
I don’t use this for climbing. I use it to connect a tow strap to the front of my Ford pick up when I am pulling someone or something out. This shackle is very strong!
