Has anyone tested this over the 400psi limit listed here? I plan on using up to around 1500psi.

As someone with a significant amount of experience with high-pressure air systems (up to 8,000 psi), I strongly suggest that you get an appropriately rated valve. At 1,500 psi, there is a strong possibility for a 400 psi valve to fail catastrophically. You don't want to be near it when it does. Trust me!

Is this valve suitable for potable water?

The product is simply chrome plated brass, so as long as it is fresh water, I'd say certainly. Is the valve rated for usage in oil (WOG) on a small engine? Thanks

I have used mine for 50:1 gas oil mix for an outboard motor and no problems yet.

How does this hold up as far as leakage? Would like to use several on a vacuum manifold - need to maintain 29.5hg when closed...

It does a good job holding a vacuum. That's what I use them for.
