Robust, protected, and pretty portable. It's a heavy chain, for sure, but it is easily wrapped around any portion of the bike, or even used around the waist or across the body if need be. The cloth chain cover is extremely thick and rugged, and I have no doubt that it will prevent anyone with a boltcutter from tampering with it. The black doesn't seem like it will fade, and you can't pull the cloth back from either end of the chain, so it's adhered pretty nicely. It's super easy to use, and there's even a little door over the lock inlet you can adjust from open to closed to protect it from the elements.

I recently purchased the Titanker Heavy Duty bike lock chain (3’) and I’m quite pleased with it so far. First of all, it’s much less expensive than other brands’ versions. Perhaps for the $5000 mountain bike I’d get the most expensive one out there, but for my older commuter bike, though a nice bike, the Titanker is sufficient. The lock itself seems very sturdy, encased in plastic with a sliding shield to keep debris out of the key slot. It comes with two keys that cannot be copied in typical key copy machines, so don’t lose your spare! You don’t have to turn the key to lock it, you simply plug the male end into the lock and it clicks shut, securely. The first chain link is solidly connected to the lock and the chain feels quite solid through the canvas cover. The cover is very nice for protecting your bike’s paint. The Titanker logo in white on the cover also looks similar to the more expensive brand’s so perhaps a thief would think twice about attempting to cut it. The chain is three feet in length so it can easily be secured around the rear wheel, the bike frame, and a solid object. My bike has quick release skewers so I remove the front wheel and lock it in as well(Helpful hint: I have a suspension fork so I carry small rubber booties to protect the wheel inserts from ground contact). I’ll also remove the seatpost and lock through the saddle rails if I’m leaving the bike for a long period. The chain is long enough to accommodate all those things. The chain is also very light despite its strength/length, so it’s not a burden in a backpack or wrapped tightly around the frame. My bike has a short seat tube extension above the top tube/seat stay junction so I wrap mine around there and it’s out of the way. Overall I am very pleased with all aspects of this lock so far, and will be purchasing a few more for friends.

This little lock did its job so well it locked me out! I bought it back in 2022 until I retired it via disk grinder in 2026. I love the little key hole cover that kept the road grime out. I would lock it up at my local Target bike rack and some punks tried to take off the nylon cover and expose the metal chain, but they would never actually make an attempt to cut it. I loved how lightweight it was and I could wrap it around my seat tube while riding so I wouldn’t have to carry it in my backpack. While on the Lakeshore Trail in Chicago, I lost the key and needed to have this faithful lock chain removed. The bike mechanic who removed it said that it was a bigger pain in the butt to remove than he first thought, and that was under ideal circumstances! Imagine what it would be like for a real-world bike thief! Great lock & theft deterrent for securing your ride, just as long as long as you have reasonable expectations and not using it to lock a +$600 bike.
