This is a PERFECT product
This is my first Ultra Short Throw projector. I've only had it for a week so can't comment on longevity, but OMG, what a fantastic product. We are using it on a great room wall with the traditional contractor off-white paint that had a mirror and a couple of paintings on it. I figured I'd see whether the image was any good and would either return the unit or maybe upgrade with a projector screen. The image is STUNNING. After a little bit of adjustment on the leveler feet, the keystone, and the focus, every part of the image is crystal clear. If displaying an exact image like a spreadsheet grid there is some deformation of the image due to the imperfections in the drywall, so a true cinephile no doubt wants a fancy, expensive, ALR screen, but for watching Netflix or sports after dinner it is unnoticeable. Before setting it up I had also read about special paint and was thinking I would need to spackle the nail holes from the mirror and paintings and repaint the wall but that's completely unnecessary. There were comments about the sound quality being mediocre, but the sound quality of the built in speakers is great, although I am not using them (see below). One thing that I hadn't anticipated is that this isn't merely a large TV, it turns watching into a fully immersive experience. Watching sports it feels like you're courtside. A few notes. I wasn't sure if I would return it because I was skeptical of the picture quality. So, the former 80" TV is on the opposite wall. It is mounted above an AV "cabinet." The whole setup includes a Denon receiver and Klipsch surround sound speakers. I had originally thought that I would mount the projector on some sort of table or stand, but to maximize the image size it is on the floor so that the bottom of the image is just above the outlets and the top of the image is an inch below the 10' ceiling. The point is that to maximize the image size there is no good way to have equipment in any sort of normal AV cabinet, so it either needs to be somewhere away from the unit or on the floor. This also means that you need to have some agility to adjust the levelers because they are on the floor. I also feel like one would need to build some sort of fence around the unit if there were infants or toddlers around. In a greenfield install things might be easier, but I left the receiver where it was so now have an Amazon Fire TV cube on the floor next to the Hisense, then a 50' digital optical cable running to the receiver, then had to switch front and rear speakers to use the wires running from the Denon to the rear speakers to become the front speakers. I'm not sure what to do about the center speaker. I had thought there was a way to use the Hisense built-in speakers as the center speaker but that may have been for a competing product as I don't see that option in the audio set-up. The only thing that is not intuitive is that some options are accessible through "settings," but others (like keystone) are only accessible through the "menu" button on the remote. I have no experience with the competition, so don't know if this is worse, the same, or better. All I know is that it is a fantastic product. Another reviewer wrote about a rainbow effect. I had to Google that to see what it was, and now knowing what it is I haven't experienced it. Lastly, my girlfriend remarked that it is a lot to spend on a TV. That is true. HOWEVER, assuming a ten year life, the cost works out to roughly a couple of dollars per day. Given that it's our entertainment most evenings after dinner, this is roughly on par with, say, half of a Starbucks coffee every day and per week, less than a glass of wine or cocktail on a Saturday night out.

Love it, you won't regret!
You need this, quality is amazing. Even without screen, very bright, worth the money, sound quality is good and color, omg the colors looks like are coming out of the screen, not heavy, very portable and easy to adjust.

Great picture
Great picture, but to date. I haven't found a way to get both the streaming and cable sound to come out of my stereo unit. The sound for streaming only works with the Hisense unit.

Good quality, but the user experience could be improved.
Overall great product! The projection quality is amazing. My only complaints are regarding the slight rainbow effect and the lack of automatic keystone. While there is an automatic keystone feature, its functionality is poor and requires users to take a photo on their phone and upload it to a website hosted by the device. This process is inefficient and, in my opinion, provides a poor user experience. I also found it difficult to get this feature to work.

Good replacement projector. Upgrade for sure
I bought this to replace my old Dell short throw projector and this one is way better. I like the google apps on it. It powers up faster and is quieter. The 4k is better as well. Itโs an expensive investment but I am happy with it. I do have one small issue with the eARC between the stereo and projector though. Not sure if it is a stereo problem or a projector problem. The timing on the powerups for the two devices is off so the projector wont recognize the stereo unless it is powered on first. A future feature could include a way to set a delay on the eARC or something. Its al fairly minor issue though and likely just a problem with my setup.

Image stopped working. Sent for repair. Came back not fixed. Stuck in support and they're helping
Two months in, I started having an issue where the projector would turn on and the sound would work, but no image would be projected. I reached out to support, and they sent me a shipping label so I could send the projector in for repair. I sent the projector back, and they had it for about a week. During that time, I emailed several times asking for an update and received no response. Eventually, the projector simply showed up back on my doorstep without any explanation. Unfortunately, after a few days, the exact same problem started happening again. I contacted support again, and this is where things have become incredibly frustrating. They repeatedly tell me to call them, but when I call, I cannot get through to an actual person. Iโve been told multiple times that my case is being โescalated,โ only to receive another response telling me to call. At this point, weโre at least 30 emails into this process, and I still have no solution. Iโm stuck in a loop between email and phone support, with neither actually addressing the problem. I understand that electronics can fail, and I donโt expect every product to be perfect. What I do expect is for a company to stand behind its product and provide functional customer support when something goes wrong. Unfortunately, that has not been my experience here.

Amazing Projector / Amazon Packaging terrible
So far, this is amazing. The color and brightness blow away my old projector. The only issue is the packaging from Amazon. They put the projector, which is roughly a 24-28" wide by around 18" tall, into a box that is 30" tall x 48" long, so it slid all around, and the ends of the box came in crushed. Luckily, HiSense packaged the projector to withstand the impact this packing gave it. Projector - 5 stars Amazon Packaging and care for a $3000 item - 0 stars

Best short throw
I ordered the LG short throat canโt really complain about it, but once I saw the reviews on this model and interface and content. It performs as close to a television as can be as far for speed as I find other short throws take long processing times very impressed with this machine recommend to anyone.

Hisense PT1
Small form factor but packs a punch. Lots of options. Google tv is very responsive. Match it up with a ALR screen that has a bit of a higher gain to get some brightness. Or a Fresnel screen. Itโs 2500 lumens but a tad on the dimmer side. So screen is important.

Great for that home theatre experience
Imagine a cinema experience in your living room. This is my second ultra short-throw - and I'll never go back to a screen. The 4K resolution pops, and the brightness, contrast and saturation are improved - even the black levels! Great price as well! Highly recommend!

wow
Exceeded my expectations, at 150" this projector on power saving mode is so much brighter, clearer and colors more vivid than my Epson 5040ub bulb projector at 120" on high power. Projecting on to a flat pure white painted wall. Even in daylight, the picture is very good. Must look amazing on a proper ust screen, maybe one day I'll get one.
