GROW!TOrganic Coco Coir Planting Chips, Block

Have tried several different products and some have nice chunks of coconut and others have some chunks and mostly shreds of coconut; this product nice sized chunks of coconut. Am using this product instead of beauty bark because it doesn’t attract bugs into it and you can still plant things later in it without getting slivers! The ground is mostly clay here so this product absorbs water and releases it later, keeping my plants from drying out on hot days. Love it!

I know a few reviews have said this stuff is more fiber than coco coir chips, so I bought with caution. But as it turned out, the bag I got was definitely more chips than fiber! I’m fact, it has a higher chip-to-fiber ratio than ANY reptile-branded coco chip I have used … even though those reptile-branded products were two or three times the price of this big cube!The chips were small, most about a half inch across, which is perfect for what I need (ball python bedding). And, LET ME TELL YOU WHAT. I never knew that coco chips were able to expand like the fine-ground coco coir soil does. But when you have more coir chips than fiber, WOW. DOES IT EVER EXPAND!I chopped off the top 3 1/2” of the block (roughly), and hydrated the whole slab. The result was just under 15 qt. of fluffy bedding! My goodness, this stuff is going to last a whole lot longer than the other brands I’ve purchased. I’m already buying a second block!So, maybe the amount of fiber you get is just luck of the draw. That’s kind of a shame, but the block I ended up with is seriously going to save my tail end a lot of work.

I use the coconut coir to fill the bottom of my above ground bags for the expansion as well as moisture retention. The coconut coir also helps with ventilation and the roots not staying too wet. I will buy this again! Works very well, I am pleased with this product.

Original shipment was damaged in transit, so warehouse reshipped. Seller was prompt in responding to my inquiry. Once product arrived was in great shape and exactly as described, super light weight and chunky just like I wanted.

My plants have really liked this! Nice size chunks that’s light weight. My only struggle is breaking the brick apart into smaller pieces to soak. Really compressed and hard to use small portions.

It seemed pretty good to me so far. Only time will tell. Comes in a tightly compressed big brick. Just have to break it up a little.

The product is very nice, the packing is so tight I have to use a screw driver or another stout pointy object to break it lose to get it out of the bag. Would give a 5 star if it was packed a little loser in a larger bag to make it easier to get out. Over all, great product!!

This was the first time we used this product and i will start by saying it’s interesting. First of all we realized you definitely have to let it sit a bit and it will expand so that was a positive! We used this product with plants on our patio garden this year and don’t know if it’s coincidence or what but we got an excellent harvest!! Awesome!! The plants retained an even moisture while draining well- Another positive!! We also noticed there didn’t seem to be quite as many pests around the plants as in past seasons - again could be coincidental but will chalk that up to a positive as well. So being that we had a good experience with this product- we will buy it and use again. We found our experience with Grow!it Coco Coir Chips to be positive!!
