A friend of mine purchased these locks and was raving about them, and I needed something to childproof my kitchen, so I decided to give the Baba Jay magnetic locks a go.Ordering and receiving:Shortly after I had placed the order, I received a helpful email thanking me for purchasing the product along with their contact details for any questions I had. The email also had an attachment with very clear instructions on it, which I read and it gave me a cleared understanding of what the product was about.As this was ordered on Amazon Prime it arrived the next day in good condition.My first impressions of the product were really positive! It comes in a really attractive box, with great colours and pictures on it – it looks professionally made.Once the box was open, I poured the contents out onto a table. *One slight complaint is that the box opens from the top, so you cannot see what is inside unless you take everything out. The instruction manual that came in the box is similar to the one received in the email, so I didn't pay much attention to it as I knew what to do.The locks themselves feel quite sturdy, the plastic does not feel flimsy at all. The magnets also feel solid and seem like they’ll last a long time.Installation:The 3m tape easy to peel off, and as the locks are quite small it’s easy to place to them exactly where you want to, even in tight spaces. As the instructions say, it’s easy to move them at the start until you've found the right spot and aligned the locks with the latch. It is definitely much easier to install subsequent locks after you crack the first one!Once you’re happy with the position and have pressed firmly down, the adhesive feels very strong – and my toddler hasn’t managed to pull any off yet.The magnetic keys are easy to store out of reach. I ended up putting the holding discs under top cupboards out of the way but within easy reach – it also means you don’t really see them.All in all I’m really happy with my purchase, I wouldn’t hesitate to get them again.

These magnetic locks are great, so much so that my parents, in laws and brother in law all got a pack.They are easy to install and use and can be unlocked open once your child is old enough not to raid the cupboards.They are hidden away so guests would be none the wiser that they are there (unless they try to open a cupboard) and are so easy to open using the magnet.One important point is that make sure your cupboards are clean before installing. I cleaned and easily installed all of our locks on the kitchen cupboards with no problem, then thought I'd better put one on the utility cupboard where the washing powder etc. is. Didn't wipe the inside of the cupboard door first at the adhesive on the back of the clasps got covered in dust and kept falling off. After wiping the cupboard door down, I stuck on a new clasp and it is still there holding strong! Doesn't need a major scrub, just cleaning the surface of any dust/ dirt that may stop the glue from sticking.Would definitely recommend.

These are good and do the job of keeping my toddler from emptying the kitchen cupboards.And it’s good that you can’t see them on the outside of the cupboards.We did find only about 2 of them didn’t stick that well and came off but all the others have been absolutely fine and have now been on for a couple of weeks and have stayed in place.

The media could not be loaded. I've had a set like this with my first one, this was hands up the best child lock solution I've tried. The magnet is very strong! Just make sure the surface is clean, dry, and press strongly for 30sec when applying. Also, you have to give adhesive 24hr to stick on properly, so disengage the little trigger.This particular product has been upgraded since I got it last, it now comes with 2 magnets for opening the locks (easy to lose! we always keep it high up on the fridge), also it has little screws and holes on the locks so they can be additionally secured. I used it without the screws before and they are strong. Another bonus are little see through stickers if you struggle to remember where the lock is. I normally just put the lock in the middle of the cupboard so it's easy to aim.Overall would highly recommend. Brilliant product and with extra upgrades, very user friendly and effective.

Great lock, but abit tricky to set up. I returned this simply because it doesn’t work for my drawers. I imagine this would be amazing for cupboards that you wouldn’t want any toddlers getting into.

Easy to install and is invisible for children. Doesn't attract the attention of children.Working very well and stick good to the service.Already recommended to my friend.

The only thing that was true of product description was that it’s not visible from the outside. Still, that isn’t 100% true as you have to put a little mark (we used a permanent marker) on the outside of the door, otherwise you’ll never find where the lock exactly is.Still we have to hover there for a good few seconds until we find the spot where the magnet unlocks the latch. For some reason it never works for the first time.We have to yank on the door a few times until it opens.Installation was also fiddly and not very clear instructions given.Don’t bother with these expensive fancy totally dysfunctional locks. Just get the Poundland ones
