Rand McNally TND 740 IntelliRoute Truck Navigation GPS with 7" HD Vibrant Display

Best Rand Mcnally out there. I use it everyday being an OTR Truck driver. I also have a Garmon. R McNally beats them anyday hands down. I also had the overdrive pro. Take my advise dont get it. It overloads the android tablet battery will die it will freeze up all the time. The camera is just a regular camera on a tablet. It is a major cause of tablet freezing up. TND740's only purpose is gps. It also boots up 100 times faster. It is the exact same gps axe the fancier ones. All you get with the fancier ones is a buggy fixed camera and sat radio. Ileave my dash cam and radio separate and have no problems. Yes, the overdrive is pretty with its bells and whistles but has way too many bugs. To spend that much money on something that gives that much trouble makes you sick. I did send in my overdrive it took 2 months to get it back. Mcnally said they updated it and put a new battery. They lied to me. Nothing was done and now its an expensive paper weight. It was hard for me to drop 4 or 5 hundred on another tablet, call me a fool. I'm glad i did i love the tnd740 and no more problems.

Best out there. If you keep it updated, it has always been spot on. The ONLY negative feature ( in my opinion) is the magnetic mount. It very rarely comes off and can take most potholes and washboard roads but as well know, some roads in the less than best kept cities are just too much. Other than the magnet mount (and by the way, why? ) it's my favorite. Even Paccar's maps for my factory integrated system on my Pete can't hold a candle to it. I've been using it for 3years now and can't be happier. Also, if you connect it to your phones wifi Hotspot, it gives ya the same up to the minute, traffic, weather and construction BEFORE ya route out. Cool stuff.

Best truck gps I know of. Many other drivers I know use it. I had one that decided to stop working for some reason. Unfortunately they don’t seem to sell the 740’s at the truck stops anymore so I made the mistake of getting a 750. Thing was useless In my opinion, but luckily they sell the 740 here on Amazon and it works great and is easy to use just like my last one.

UPDATE: This unit completely quit, would not turn on. After contacting the manufacturer I was sent a replacement unit and it has been updated since I bought mine. Although it is better with the replacement unit I still do not like it. It is just not worth the money for what it provides.There is nothing that is $400.00 special about it. It comes out of navigation mode a lot of time and just shows you where you are at. I have found a lot of un-updated info as far as speed limits, curve warnings, etc. It does not save a lot of the changes you make in settings. I did the full updates via WiFi before taking it anywhere. I have only taken it on one 3 day trip to California and am not very impressed with it. The unit is very light and seems very fragile. Save your money and buy another unit!

I purchased a new Rand McNally TND 740, was not happy with my purchase due to unit being used, connection wires loose, kept freezing up, I and would not stay mounted to windshield, Ship Sound LLC exchanged my purchase, sent me a new unit this time. Thanks to Customer service at Amazon and ShipSound for helping me resolve this issue! They went above and beyond to fix the problem.:)😁Thank you!

When it’s working, it works great, but rand McNally’s quality is taking a dive for sure. My 730 lasted for YEARS without issue! I just wanted an upgrade. My 740 is on its way to Rand for repair as I write this, and I only had this since April or May. Some electrical issue causes the screen to flicker then power off. Turns back on for the most part. Very annoying... online people say that the charger it comes with is only 2 amps which is under powered and to get one that is at least 3.4 amps. I will try when I get my device back.

Love the updates on this one from the 720! Seamless, small, smooth and fast! The only thing I didn't like is the way the charger and the the stand/windshield stand... As soon as in hit a bump it falls off :( going to glue the 2 pieces together so it doesn't fall
