Well, overall it does the job. Tried on my phone and tables volume buttons work ok. However on my Hp Laptop, the buttons wont work.

Got this to replace a damaged cable and it works exactly as I was expecting. It seems really durable and all the in line controls work as intended. I noticed no difference in audio quality or sound levels with this cable. Mic also works great if you need that functionality. Overall great product.

I was looking for a cord with a built in remote and mic for my normally-wireless Sony noise cancelling headphones. Reason is because the bluetooth connection to my Windows PC work computer is terrible (Windows' fault) and I wanted a better microphone as I was getting complaints from coworkers.This cord seems pretty well built, with good quality materials and a sturdy cord/connector interface (the part that normally fails first with audio cords). The remote buttons (volume up/down and pause/play) have a firm tactile feel that I really like. The microphone quality was nothing spectacular, but also not terrible, so I'm fine with it.The remote functions work perfectly on my Windows PC, the device to which this cord will mostly be attached to. I also tried a personal MacBook Air and iPhone, and the situation was different. Volume up and pause/play worked just fine, but volume down didn't work at all, and in fact if you double clicked, sometimes the volume would actually go up! I wouldn't have a problem with this if the product listing specifically indicated that this was incompatible with iPhone/iPad/Mac, but it specifically says it is compatible. Hence the one star off. So, if you're looking to use this with an Apple device, you're better off buying a cord that is Apple certified. For 90% of the usage I'm looking to do, however, the cord and remote should work just fine.UPDATE: After a week or so of use, I found that one day the microphone no longer worked when plugged into either my work computer or personal computer. Restarted the computer -- no improvement. Tried a different set of headphones -- same result. I lowered my rating to one start because the microphone is essentially the entire reason I needed this cable. It is now nearly useless for me.

The two ends have two different sized end pieces, one DOES fit the SONY earphones, but does not fit any of the laptops in home (there are three).

So, the length of the cable is perfect for my needs. People can hear me and I can hear them well. I don't like to be connected to bluetooth all-day so this is a really great cable for that.My only problem is that quality seems not to be the greatest. I tried lowering down the volume and that brought it some static noise. I went after a bit, but for that reason I am taking one start down. Using it with Beats Solo 3.

The cable does what it's supposed to do. There aren't any outstanding features other than the braided cover that keeps tangling to a minimum. The only drawback is that it does make noise when rubbing against something like a zipper. Volume buttons are useable and aren't too small. The mic picks up well with no static. I don't use the cable much, only when the battery is dead in my Bluetooth headphones. All in all, a good cable to have in such a situation.

This seems to work well as a beats replacement, however it's noticably thinner and lesser quality than the original beats chord (it makes sense for the value though!), the buttons function and I haven't noticed much loss in sound quality so I love this replacement!
