I recieved this book in the mail this evening. I am in awe with the beauty and love that went into making this book what it is. I appreciate the knowledge that has been so thoughtfully shared with such great detail. This book is not just a cook book, it is a wise teacher. The kind of teacher that you know truly loves what she is teaching and inspires appreciation in the hearts of those who consume the knowledge offered. I very much look forward to experiencing these recipes. I have been waiting for months for this moment. This is not just a cookbook, pages and pages of photos, stories, tiniest little tips that Umma wouldn’t leave behind, and the most gorgeous pictures for each step. I find most cookbooks intimidating and unapproachable, I look up a recipe and that’s it, but Umma’s book is like that favorite novel that you go over and re-read, over and over again. I have been following Sarah’s videos for months and when I saw the news about this book, there was no doubt that I wanted it. Every recipe from Umma that I tried from Sarah’s TikToks has been absolutely incredible. On point instructions and tips that make a huge difference. They even included a whole section to introduce Korean ingredients, their preferred brands and tips on buying Korean vegetables and herbs like Perilla and aster scaber. Cannot wait to try every recipe from this amazing book. Wow! What an incredible book, it’s more than a recipe book. This book shares this family's stories of hard work, dedication, the appreciation they have for their culture but especially and most importantly for each other. It had me smiling, crying and in deep introspection with the stories shared. It transported me to a different time and place. The recipes are so easy to follow (I hope finding ingredients is not so difficult in my area) it also includes photos of the process which is hugely appreciated. Beautifully done!

This is a beautiful cookbook. The pages are top quality and lots of illustrations. Easy to understand and very informative. I made a grocery list and was able to find everything easily at the suggested market. Everything I’ve made so far is delicious and healthy. It’s an also heartwarming mother daughter and family tribute.

This book was far more beautiful, well-made, and informative than I could’ve ever imagined. It provides step-by-step instructions for seemingly challenging recipes and even provides information on where to buy ingredients. In addition to a keepsake, it would make a beautiful gift.

Ive followed the family for a long time on Tik Tok and finally bought their book. It is a well-made, beautiful cook book with not just recipes, but helpful tips and comnon korean ingredients to look for at the store. The book is very thick and is a splendid addition for my shelf. Ive already recommended it to friends.
