Ironman socks for cool, dry and blister free feet. Low-cut with mesh instep for breathability. Review: Comfortable, cool and stays in place - I bought these looking for something to keep me cool in a hot, industrial workplace. I wear them under my safety shoes, which is a tough environment to find a good sock for. In the past when I've tried ankle socks they don't stay in place for a full work day, but these have no problem staying in place. Since finding them so comfortable for work, I've started wearing them for hiking as well. Their toughest day hiking was an 11 mile rocky hike to the summit of Mt. San Jacinto and back; they held up well even on this hike and kept my feet cool and sufficiently cushioned. For year 'round use, I'll probably never dispense with my Smartwool hikers, but for hot summertime wear, I've found these incredibly comfortable and durable. Review: Best socks ever for running - I've been running since junior high track, and have never had my feet as comfortable while running as when wearing these socks. I fell in love with them before I even put my shoes on. The soft padding on the bottoms can cause your feet to get a little warm after running about 1-1.5 miles, but your feet rapidly adjust and you don't notice anything beyond that. I typically run 4miles at a time, and these socks are awesome. I usually get blisters/callouses on the balls of my feet and parts of my feet will be sore after a run, but with these socks, my feet feel as good as they did before I started with no blisters. Greatly worth the cost per pair, in fact I plan on getting enough pairs to wear for every time I run.

Better as an all purpose active sock than for running
We bought these socks for track/cross country season to use as running socks. Pros * Thick with has extra padding on ball of foot, heel and achilles area for hiking, running etc, however, not too thick to be comfortable worn in snug fitting shoes. * Good arch support * Very good elastic with snug fit prevent them form slipping Cons * If you sweat heavily, these are definitely not for you. They do a great job of keeping your feet dry as long as you aren't sweating heavily but the extra padding almost feels saturated at times. * If you dry them in your dryer regularly, they will lose their elasticity much quicker, although that can easily be fixed by air drying them. * Fit slightly smaller than expected Overall, this was a good sock but not for anyone who sweats heavily. Also, I think these would be better for activities such as hiking or for someone who works on their feet all day etc rather than running.

I expected to like these more - They are fine, but there are better options
I bought this sock along with several others when I wanted to figure out the best socks to use for running in the summer. It is really hard to judge socks without wearing them for a long long time to see how they wear. So far I have used these socks 2-3 times, and they are okay. I do not have any serious issues with them, but I just don't like them for some reason. Even though they are ventilated, they seem warmer than my other ventilated running socks. I don't feel as comfortable in them as I expected when I get them in my shoe. I cannot really put my finger on what I don't like. It may be the material which seems denser and more insulating or something.. I am not really sure. The first time I was tired and it was very warm out (my feet felt really hot), so I thought maybe it was not a good test. I wore them two other times in different conditions, and I still felt like they were not as good as my other socks I like wigwam as a brand because they had a manufacturing facility in the city where I grew up and my mom used to work there. They always had quality products in my history with using them. These are my first running socks from them (along with some Cool Lite Pro socks that I also bought at the same time) and the quality still seems pretty good. Unfortunately I just do not like them very much. I definitely liked both the Thorlo unisex Experia CoolMax Micro sock and the Balega Enduro Quarter lengh socks even better. The Thorlo are now my go to running sock. The Balegas are also very good and cost less. The other wigwam socks I mentioned above I also liked better although not as much as the Thorlo or Balega. The verdict is still out on longevity for all of the socks I bought, but I did purchase more of the Thorlo despite the additional cost if that says anything to you.

Great purchase.
When I first unpacked the socks, they felt hauntingly thin but upon washing and trying them on they were actually very comfy and cushy enough. During workouts they never once let on that my feet are perspiring, don't shed and haven't lost their stretch. They do sit low on my feet and barely come out past my shoes, but that's fine because I'm not looking to set any fashion trends with my snazzy socks. The price is steeper than I wanted to spend, but my results convince me to pick up a couple more pairs. Longevity so far is very good and color fade is virtually non-existent.

The Only Socks I Wear Running/Backpacking
I run an average of 15 miles a week in these socks. They tend to last for years even with heavy use. The fit is tight but comfortable with absolutely no seam to be felt around the toes. The upper lip that can be seen around the ankle helps to prevent friction from the shoes wearing down on the achilles tendon. I've also worn this sock on longer length 10 day backpacking trips where the daily mileage is between fifteen and twenty-five miles. They held up to the challenge and worked well with the trail shoes.

Love these socks for hiking and racing
These are my go-to socks for busy days where I think my feet will sweat. Hiking, long bike rides, running... these are the perfect socks. Also after you get them sweaty, they dry off very quick. Must be some sort of wonder material. For reference, I'm a size 13 (with slightly wide feet), and the Large size fits great. I've had a pair for 1 year, would wear them once per week and they're just starting to wear out. Note that they do fit a bit like a fitted glove. Initially they almost feel like you're putting a slipper on. There's no left-vs-right foot.

Comfy socks for running and cycling. Fit as expected (already owned a pair of same size). No discomfort when jogging 5 - 10 km or cycling with clip in shoes. Good quality material and section on back of heel prevents rubbing on shoes. Will be buying more when my current ones wear out. Definitely better than standard ankle sports socks.
