The classic with a couple of perks
This is a wonderfully, easy to pickup and play economic game. Tile placement is how you create/build hotel chains to buy stock in. Merging chains is how stock sells (how you make money to buy more stocks!) The game is over when no more tiles can be placed legally and the winner is whom has the most money after stock sell-off. It surprisingly is a pretty long play inspite of its simple learning curve and lack of complexity. The powers cards are a much needed boost with the game as it can add a little bit of strategy (i.e. draw up to 11 tiles gives you a possible 'insider trading' angle to buy stock into a hotel chain that you happened to draw to help build up value) The Anniversary edition also gives you nice 3d hotels that sit on a tile to designate what chain it is. However, the real star are the high grade poker chips they use for the currency. The weight of the game is pretty hefty, then as you unbox, you find out that 95% of it is from the chips! The downside is that the chips are packed in the tray with no room to give, so getting that 1st chip out is a bit of a chore. I definitely recommend this as a family friendly title and its easy mechanics are ideal for younger kids to partake in an economical simulation. Definitely better than Monopoly.

Absolutely Stunning Deluxe Edition
I haven’t had a chance to play this yet, but I had to leave a review after opening the box—wow. The luxury of the components is immediately apparent. Everything feels premium, from the materials to the presentation, and it truly feels like a special anniversary edition. You can tell a lot of care went into making this feel like more than just a game—it feels like an experience. I can’t wait for the family fun to commence and get this to the table. If you’re a fan of Acquire or love deluxe board game editions, this one looks like a real treat.

Beautiful Presentation
I had the original Aquire and enjoyed it for many years. However, this Anniversary Edition is amazing! Each part is well-built and thought out. The chips are heavy-duty and a nice touch over the paper. The box is set up to organize each part during the game's play. The price is a little heavy, too, but it's well worth it.

Wife’s fave game
She wins a lot. It is a quite fun game reminiscent of Monopoly but without the slow and prolonged gameplay. You can do a game of Acquire in less than two hours. Many good strategies to be had on which hotels are placed and which stocks to buy with a good bit of chance based on the drawing of tiles. This anniversary edition is very nice for the quality of materials, such as chips instead of paper money, and high end plastic for hotel models vs cardboard. Certainly has a better feel on playing the game.

Capitalism at its finest: want vs need
This the classic battle of want vs need. You need Acquire if you are a gamer...you don’t need to pay the extra 50 bucks for, basically, a bag and poker chips. I need to give this game 5 stars because it's great, but I want to mention, you can still enjoy the cheaper version of Acquire and buy another quality game for the same price. Do you want to feel the weight of poker chips, or do you need to save $50? Maybe there's a way you can do both? A few posters are disappointed with this perceived cash grab, and I definitely see their point. However, I love this game and the bag and the chips. The last word here: Capitalism.

Fantastic Game
First of all, I love Acquire. It is one of the first boardgames I learned to play as a child. I have played every edition since the first. The game is 5 stars. The issue I have is that this edition comes at a premium price, but not all components are premium. The money is awesome! Much better than the paper bills from before. The board is the same as last edition, but with 60th Anniversary printed on the front. Definitely not premium. The tiles are the same. I prefer the first edition for board/tiles. The part that most upsets me, and causes this game to lose a star, is due to the cheap, poorly made property cards. $100 and one of the major components of the game is the flimsy, garbage property cards. So, so, so poorly made. So, so, so CHEAP. Not laminated. Not on thick paper. Not properly finished. Other than the property cards, this is a 5 star game.
