I installed two of these under a patio cover I added a small portable USB Solar Panel ( Solar Phone Charger, 10W Solar Powered Phone Charger Portable ETFE 2-Port Dual USB Solar Charging Panel Pad Battery with Build-in LED Light and Auto Restart Tech for iPhone, Samsung ) which can assist with charging both strings(two USB ports).

They are great so good if fact we bought 2 more for a friend! Great service great price lightning fast delivery! Thankyou so much. We are thrilled to have a 0 cost and 0 maintenance with these lights. Why didn't we order these before?We put them on the deck in the trees they look so great & come on every night no need for a switch! So happy with these.

Got these in February, charged them USB for 24 hours then put them outside (protected from the rain etc) and they worked fine for a month or so. (I like the blinking effects!) Came on at dusk and would run for several hours every night. Then they just quit. I thought it may be because we'd had a few cloudy days.Brought them in and put them on the USB charger, 24 hours again, but alas~ nothing....neither of the buttons (on/off and mode) did anything.I've contacted the manufacturer who claims they'll send me a replacement but we'll see. And also see if that lasts any longer than a month+If so, I'll gladly modify my review.

Ive had these lights for about a month now. I ordered 1 set first and realized immediately it's not enough light. Ordered a second set few days later. The lights work fine when I charge them with USB but when we rely on solar charging they don't seem to stay lit for more then 2 hours at a time. We tried changing the direction of the solar panels but still seems they do not last for more then 2hrs unless they are charged for 4-6hrs via usb. It's a little bit of a hassle to unplug and charge and plug again but I guess for the money they cost it's worth the extra trouble.

I used two of the warm white 72 foot strings during a camping trip on the Carolina coast with my husband. As suggested, I had the solar panels in full sun for an entire day before using the lights. They came on by themselves at dusk and turned off on their own, staying steady and not getting dimmer when we went to sleep at 2 or 3 in the morning. Yes, we are party animals. I've used them mostly for ambiance, not to light up the campground, although having them around the square pop-up canopy over our mesh tent was a great nightlight to get in and out of bed without tripping over anything. I attached them to the canopy using badge clips  Y&Y Star 30pcs Double Hole Metal Badge Clips with PVC Straps, ID Strap Clip Adapter ID Badge Clips, Clear,30 Clips per Pack (clear 30pcs)  If you ran both strings back and forth over a picnic table I feel they would give enough light to eat or play cards if you didn't have failing eye site. They were beautiful and romantic looking; many people stopped to look the lights and ask where we had purchased them. I bought these lights specifically due to the solar pack unplugging from the light string. I knew all the trees in the campground would keep the panels from charging. Since I also plan to use them around our house which is surrounded by trees, this feature was necessary. During the day I'd pop off the panels and either put them in a sunny area on the ground or on the dashboard of the car. The fact they could charge using a mini usb is also a great feature but not one I've had to use. So far, they've only been in a light mist so I can't speak to their ruggedness. What I love so much about them, the solar panel popping off, will probably reduce their longevity. It is just another place for water to seep in if the connection isn't super snug. Over all, these were an excellent buy for the price as long as you are looking for soft, romantic accent lighting and not a task light. I'd buy them again and intend on purchasing color sets both for future trips and holiday decorating.

I hope I don’t jinx these fairy lights after writing a 5 Star review! We strung one set and after a 24 hour period of day light they lit up wonderfully but only burned approx 4 hours! We waited to see if the first strand worked before investing Time in doing both together! We wrapped our olive tree and the 2nd set didn’t work........... at first! Then the hubby fiddles with the solar panel awhile and they’ve been working nicely for 2 months!

I ordered these because we travel internationally a lot and every country has a different power structure. Initially I used solar lights, but upon arriving in Scandinavia, I realized there just isn't enough sun mid winter to fully charge the lights. The USB option to charge is perfect. I am able to plug in the lights using my cellphone wall plug and a USB port. These lights should carry me anywhere in the world. The only draw back I see is that they aren't quite as bright as the last solar set I bought. While all LED lights have the tiny bulbs now, these just don't seem to shine quite as brightly as the other ones, also I wish they had a better selection of colors. I didn't want white, but the red-yellow-green-blue isn't a very attractive combination. They're great for up close use, but just can't quite be seen from the road. I miss the big outdoor lights!

I love these lights! They’re so easy to setup and they give a nice strong light for hours. I have several areas of my yard that it’s difficult to have electricity. Having solar lights worked out perfectly. They are a great addition to my Christmas display!
