Fun game
It’s a bit silly, but loads of fun. These games are all a much of a muchness. If you’ve played one you’ve played them all, but that’s also why they’re so much fun. This iteration introduces some new grappling hook mechanics but apart from that it’s your standard blow everything up, flying squirrel suit, grappling hook over the top GTA in the jungle kind of game.

I think I'm too old for games like this
So here's the thing. I made sure to watch a few pre-purchase videos on this game to get an unbiased overview, which I tend do prior to a new game commitment (cos sometimes the jacket can be deceptive), and I have been looking for a new open-world experience in a franchise I haven't tried yet. Just Cause was listed in a best of countdown list so I looked it up and thought it was worth a shot. After having played the game now I have reached the conclusion that seeing is very different to doing. In all the reviews the gameplay looked like a ton of fun, and the opportunity to fly around and muck about in a sandbox totally new to me was pretty much the hook. I could be accused of giving in without giving it more of a chance, but I just haven't been able to get the hang of not crashing on my head. Gliding around in a wing suit looks so graceful and free in the reviews, but what they don't tell you is how infuriatingly taxing it is to control your flightpath. I'm all over the place and my quick transitioning from one traversal to another is laughable.Okay, so more practice is needed to nail it, yep I can take that criticism. More particular to my three stars and self-critical headline however is what I view as needless violence. I understand that the game is all about blowing stuff up and shooting people (for a good cause, obviously), but I don't get is why it sometimes becomes mandatory. I might be driving around in a stolen vehicle, stopping at a gas station to laugh at NPC drivers honing in on me to comedic affect, when all of sudden I am descended upon by 30 armed soldiers all shooting at me at once. Obviously, you're supposed to send them packing with bravura, but even after you've been minding your own business?Overall I thought the game was well presented, satisfyingly vast, and has a variety of mechanics to keep you from getting bored. I just didn't appreciated being blamed for a military truck crashing into the back of a car I was driving for no other purpose than to drive it then punished for the transgression by them calling all their buddies (and I mean ALL of them) to kick the living daylights out of me from vans, motorbikes, helicopters, and drones, ALL AT THE SAME TIME!The game looked fun, and it is, if you enjoy endless mindless violence.

Ok so far just getting used to controls again. But it's harder to follow and town clearing a bit more complicated

Fun open world shoot em up. Poor handling and instructions for tasks.
Husband loves this game for explosive fun. He often complains of poor handling and instructions for tasks arent clear. Other than this he enjoys the fun graphics and shoot em up element of the game.
