I received a similar chest from my dad when I was a young man, and this one was just gifted to my son. Sturdy construction and elegant look...honestly, I may retire my original one and order another one of these for me.

The first box that arrived was split on the top. The return was pretty easy, only to get the next one with the hinges not tightened. The screws were sticking out and not even screwed in. I expected better quality since this was one of the more expensive ones I found. I thought higher price would mean a better quality. In this case, it means better ideas on design but executed poorly. Not much attention to little things like not sending a broken box or not even screwing in the hinge screws very well. Pretty disappointed.

Well made and roomy

Unlike other reviewers here, my build quality is fine (still uses a minimal glue-based build, I might have just gotten lucky here). My primary complaint is that the shoe rest does not even remotely provide balance for my male size 13 boots, and is essentially useless for any kind of actual elbow grease work at this size. If you’re shining anything below, like, a 9 or a 10, this will probably suit you fine, but big shoes will topple off of this thing with even the slightest wax pull.

Great wooden box to keep all my shoe cleaning product and brushes organized in one place. Yes one place because it is large enough. The color and the smell it makes are pleasant to the senses.I took one star off my review because the top is not 100% true to the base when the lid is latched.Overall I love my cedar shoe polish valet organizer. I would buy it again.
