Poulan 545012203 Chainsaw Clutch Cover Assembly

It works on our craftsman chainsaw.

Perfect fit for my Poulan Pro PP4218AVX. The AVX has the thumb-wheel adjuster, which is the weakest point, and failed quickly. This Clutch Cover Assembly converts the saw to a standard screw-driver adjustment, which is superior IMHO. Don't forget to get two (and maybe a few extras) Bar Nuts (Poulan Numer: 530015917).

Exact fit. Much better in my opinion than the original hand adjustment cover that only utilizes a single stud to hold bar in place.

I have had a Poulan PP4218AVX for several years and it was nearly useless because of the poorly designed chain tightening/loosening device which came on the saw when I purchased it. I have tried replacing the plastic gear in the device without success (don't waste your time and money). This product (Poulan 545012203) fixed my saw so that I can now use it. Unfortunately, It does not come with the chainsaw bar nuts to secure it on to the saw. They have to be obtained separately.

Does the job well and is a very competitive price.

Replaced a side screw chain tensioner that was damaged on a Poulan Pro PR4218. Wasn’t sure it would fit but it works perfectly. Now I just tighten the tensioner from the front. No big deal. This one appears less likely to break.

The cover on my Poulan pro Pr4218 broke and this replacement fit perfectly.. The chain adjuster screw is no longer on the side but it does not change how it functions.

Perfect match to convert my tool-less PP4218AVX. The chain kept getting loose, so after studying parts diagrams, I determined that this part should work to convert it to the regular style with the two bolts and the adjuster screw. Works perfectly. I do wish it came with the two nuts for the bolts, though. I had to order them from eBay for like $5 because I could find any non-serrated flange nuts at my hardware store.
