I Love these fenders! Relatively easy install.
Wow! I love the new look of my Jeep JK Rubicon with these all metal fenders from Smittybilt! I also love the sense of accomplishment of doing this installation myself. If you're new to Jeeps or have been a Jeeper for a long time, you may have heard some mixed reviews of Smittybilt products. Speaking just for myself, I've not had a single bad experience with any of the Smittybilt products I've purchased. And these metal fenders are a perfect example. They are awesome! The arrive very well packaged, completely protected from damage during shipping. The are coated with a tough finish and they look amazing just sitting in the box! They do come with instructions...however, I HIGHLY RECCOMEND watching the same "How To" video I watched on YouTube. It was posted by "Overclock3d" (yes, it's a "3" instead of an "e") and the host, "CPO", does an outstanding three-part video an exactly how to remove your factory fenders and exactly how to install these Smittybilt fenders. I watched the video series at least three times and then felt confident tackling this project on my own. HINT #1: I "painted" my rear inner fender wells with black PlastiDip and they look awesome (see photo). HINT #2: When cutting your front fender liners for re-using after installing your Smittybilt fenders, watch the video by "Overclock3d" VERY VERY carefully. I did and still cut my front inner fender liners incorrectly! No biggie and nothing some Gorilla tape didn't solve! But just be aware of where you are cutting. HINT #3: I WAS going to put a 2" lift on my Jeep very soon... But with these new fenders, it sort of looks like it already has a small lift! Pretty amazing. For now, I may just put some 33" tires on it and leave the suspension alone!

Don't second guess Smitty products
Installed mine a few days ago. Had previously purchased some plastic ones from rugged ridge 5 months ago. At the time it was a toss up with these or the plastic ones. For weight or for whatever dumb reason, I went plastic and paid a dear price for garbage. The rugged ridge ones broke in the wind on a 6 hour drive. Ridiculous! And to top it off. The plastic always looked dirty and spotty. Prob eventually would have faded. Worse. 13 jk 2 -door ....Most of my externals are smitty or the textured look of smitty metal (bumpers, rails, roof rack etc) so I don't know why I didn't go with these first. A. I would've saved a good penny B. These look better installed and C. It's more practical to the aggressive look I am maintaining. These fenders are lovely. I can't stop looking at them. Touching the texture. My wheel wells are long removed with last fender overhaul and the exposed frame and stubby bumper with these fenders just looks right. The design tapers with the jeep lines as if jeep really should just make these a stock option. I was never going to keep the plastic OEM ones. That was a given... so these metal smitty's won't fade in the sun or get cracked. Sure they could bend but I'm going for a sturdy jeep not a plastic toy one. Get these if you're in doubt. The price is good. Easy install. Sharp looking upgrade. I feel like these will last the life of the jeep if I don't go mod crazy.

Best Deal For Fenders! Adds Great Clearance!
VALUE: These are easily the best bang for your buck out there when it comes to fender flares! I got these on sale for $200, and then turned around and sold my stock fender flares for $250! I mean come on you canโt beat that! QUALITY: These jokers are SOLID! Great textured powder coating, solid steel, not flimsy! Iโve only had them on for a month, so time will tell if the coating holds up but I have no reason to think it wonโt. CLEARANCE: As you can see from the pics, they added a good bit of clearance. My 33x12.5s weโre rubbing my stock fender flares BAD every time I went off-road or even hit bumps in the road. Now they fit with no issue! I plan to add 35s soon, and thanks to these fenders, will probably only have to do a 2โ lift! If you donโt plan on off-roading, you could run 35s on your JK with just these fenders and no lift! PACKAGING: Smittybilt did a great job ensuring these get to you with no issues. They taped foam around each of the fender flares, and then put a block of foam in the box to make sure they donโt move around and get scratched. Mine arrived in perfect condition! INSTALL: Pretty straight forward install with only basic tools required. I would recommend watching a YouTube video though because the instructions that come with it arenโt very helpful. The hardest part was installing the bolts on the front fender flares furthest to the back. Not much room for my hands to squeeze back behind and in there to get the parts where they needed to be. Other than that it was very simple!

Very easy to install (which was my main worry)
I did look at some similar fender flares that we half the price but looked pretty much the same. I can't speak for the quality or ease of installation of those because I went ahead and got these and I am happy that I did. They came packaged very well and will all hardware necessary to install. I'll preface this with I have a guy that has done all of the major installs on my Jeep. The lift, drive shaft, front bumper, rear tire carrier...I am not a mechanic so I always want to make sure things are done right. I took these out of the box when the sun was starting to go down so I had limited light and still had them fully installed in less than 30 minutes. It really could not have been easier. They look great on the Jeep and are EXTREMELY sturdy. I'm extremely happy with these and would definitely purchase again.

Great fit. Metal is great. You won't be disappointed
Those are great. A great replacement for plastic. The metal is what I was looking for. They look really good in our durable. It was an easier to install and the holes aligned perfectly.

I bought these in May of 2017. Here's how they've held up.
These are good, thick steel durable fenders, which have held up to 4.5 Michigan winters. I've had these on almost 5 years now and am starting to see some surface rust. I removed them in the summer, hand-sanded them down, painted them (no primer), then saw rust come through a few weeks later. It's now winter and I will be removing the fenders again and painting them this time with primer added. I'd thought of going back to my stock fenders. but these fenders give the look I want. Hope this helps! UPDATE: Summer 2022. The bolts to these fenders have now rusted to my Jeep, and the screw heads have stripped. I wish I wouldโve replaced the Allen wrench heads with the standard hex-head bolts when I had them off last summer. I went ahead and resanded them again and used a rust oleum spray on bed liner, in hopes to prevent rust. It was a long tape job, because I could not remove my front fenders.UPDATE; rust came back A LOT during the winter of 22-23. I canโt wait to take these off and put new fenders on.

Great Value - Great Look - a bit of a project
Great Value - Great Look - a bit of a project if using the existing fender wells. Removing the OEM parts is quick & easy (many you-tubes can show you how). Adding the new fender flares is very easy and uses existing holes. If you're like many who simply go without fender liners, it's a quick & easy project...say 5 hours beginning to end and you could do it a second time in less than 2 hours. The tough part is using EXISTING liners that are molded to fit the OEM fenders and do not lay close to the contour of the actual body, but made to match the huge plastic fenders. I purchased extra push connectors, fender washers and self tapers to achieve an acceptable look...in the end, I'm very happy for a sub $300 job. If you have the cash & want to limit the hassle - order fitted liners. The first photo's were taken when I had 31" tires & no lift which, of course there was zero clearance issues. I then went to 35" tires and no lift - there was no rubbing for street driving, but could not be used off-road. I added a 2 1/2" lift and had zero clearance / rubbing issues even with fairly aggressive off-road situations. Hope that helps!

Easy to install
Easy to install and arrived quick. The only this to be aware of is because they are so narrow a lot of water/mud from the front tires gets sprayed up that would normally be stopped by a wider fender. If the road is wet and thereโs any breeze that spray ends up On your windshield. Overall though I love them.

Four Stars
I like the look and the clearance, but I've come to terms with never having a clean jeep again.
