FirsTime & Co.® Wood Canoe Pendulum Clock, American Crafted, Wood, 7.5 x 3.5 x 18,

I’ve had this wall clock decoration for 2 years now and doesn’t skip a beat. It looks great against the wood, it’s quiet, and the quality is awesome.

This is a nicely made little clock! The wood features are really nicely done with nice paint work that is subtle yet not cheap feeling. It is substantial and the hanging point is solid. The movement utilizes a separate battery for the pendulum (paddle) action and that action is pronounced in that I noticed if the clock wasn't just so on the wall, the paddle would just touch one side or the other in it's swing making a bit of a knocking noise. I suppose one could sand the lower corners of the paddle just a touch to create more clearance but just an adjustment to the left/right worked for me. It made a really nice addition to our guest room with a cabin theme.

Looks great on wall and fits our mountain decor. Just be aware that it makes clicking noise every time the pendulum swings. Does not bother us at all but if you’re sensitive to sounds, it may bother you. We love it!

4 stars because the aesthetic design is so damn cute. I love it and it's perfect in my cabin. Also, when I [thought] I had a problem with the first one, they sent a new one right away without me having to return the old one first, which is nice (good customer service). Pro tip: if your pendulum isn't working, make sure the batteries are fresh. Weak batteries will be enough to power the clock but not the pendulum. Anyways, the clock is made with lightweight / inexpensive materials; that's fair considering the price point. I would give 5 stars but there is a major design problem: the pendulum hits the side of the clock. You can stop the sound by getting the clock completely level, straight up and down. But, within minutes the swinging action of the pendulum will knock it off center again, and the sounds resumes. Hey, it's not the *worst* sound--it's a soft rythymic thumping/knocking of wood on wood, and basically replaces the sound of a tick, but I don't know, it lacks the sharpness of an actual "tick" sound and I'm not a fan (I usually like the sound clocks make and find it comforting). I'm gonna try to fix it by creating a second mounting point at the bottom so I can really fix the darn thing to the wall centered and level. An annoying thing to have to do, but worth it in my opinion because I really dig the unique design. I'd tell the manufacturer that they need a second mounting point at the bottom, and some simple instructions that inform the consumer that the clock needs to be super level and that the pendulum is battery powered.

I took a suggestion of another customer about stopping the noise from the oar. I used bandaids on the inside where the oar hits the sides (and you can't see them). Now I have zero noise or (ticking) and the clock works and looks beautiful. I am very happy with this purchase.

We purchased this clock to replace a clock that we loved but that would no longer work. We have an Adirondack themed vacation home. We searched and searched for something that could replace the clock we had. All were so expensive, and we didn't really like the look of them. We were so excited to find this clock. We ordered it immediately. It arrived really quickly, and when we opened it were very happy to see that it was just as pictured and very well made!! It is exactly what we wanted. Although the clock is nice it would have been a good idea to make sure all the numbers on the face of the clock are correct. Where there should be a nine there is a six, the number was attached upside down. I will be returning it

This adorable canoe cock is not only a functional clock, it is well made and a great talking piece. It fits nicely in a cabin, cottage or even a sun room.

We needed a new clock for the cottage. It looks great where we hung it. The pendulum is a small paddle which when operating was tapping the inside wall of the clock making a tap tap sound which was annoying. I resolved this by placing a small felt pad on the inside wall which seems to have resolved the issue. From a distance the hands on the clock are hard to see unless you are up close. Other than that the clock is great and makes for a nice decor item.
