The 30-Day Thyroid Reset Plan: Disarming the 7 Hidden Triggers That are Keeping You Sick
D**S
Much-needed book in the thyroid healing diet space - that goes so much beyond just food for healing!
Dr. Becky Campbell is one of the most knowledgeable people out there in the field about all things thyroid disease (which you probably realized if you listened to my podcast with her from a few weeks ago!) The woman is a rockstar, insanely smart, and is a board-certified Doctor of Natural Medicine who has really been there too. Her interest in thyroid conditions started with years of frustration going through the conventional medical system without any relief of her symptoms, which later turned out to be a diagnosis of Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis. The book dives into the seven main causes of thyroid dysfunction that are keeping you sick, and why we need to go so much more beyond food for true healing, from stress management, to healing gut and liver issues, other hormonal imbalances, addressing heavy metal toxicity or parasites, and the list goes on. And it is, of course, a cookbook – so Dr. Becky breaks down the foods that we should be avoiding to help heal hormonal imbalances and thyroid disease, and the ones we should make sure to include as much as possible to speed along that healing.I’ve personally done a LOT of research on thyroid conditions and healing diets for them, since it runs in my family, and Dr. Becky’s book, the 30-Day Thyroid Reset Plan, is honestly one of the most comprehensive yet easy-to-understand books about thyroid health and healing I’ve ever come across in my years of personal research with my own family’s thyroid conditions and years in school as well. She also goes into exactly what you should do if you suspect you have a thyroid condition – exactly what lab tests to order (which is way beyond what a conventional doctor will typically do!)What I love about this book is it’s not just a 30-day meal plan with a bunch of gorgeous, kickass recipes. But it goes so much deeper than that – into why it’s so important to switch up your makeup and skincare (spoiler alert: because conventional products are full of known endocrine disruptors and carcinogens) and includes lots of recommendations for safer skincare brands, how to use essential oils, and a couple DIY skincare recipes as well if you want to make your own. It also talks about how if you don’t take care of your stress and these environmental triggers that may be keeping you sick, no matter how much you change with your food, you won’t be able to truly heal.

A great easy-to-read and aesthetically pleasing book
Love this book! The content is so helpful for someone new to understanding autoimmune disease, and everything the author presents takes a natural healing approach. If you are already interested or are currently going toxin-free (chemicals in the home, in your foods, water, even makeup), you will feel further validated while reading this and better understand how these environmental contaminants can trigger disease. However if you’re not completely sold on this alone, rest assured the author covers several other triggers related to autoimmune disease and it’s development. Everything from stress, lack of sleep, and even Epstein Barr virus (AKA Mono!)In addition to the information provided in the book, the binding of the book and overall design of the book (photography, typeface, page layout) is aesthetically pleasing and makes you want to pick up this book again and again! I am so glad I don’t have to consult a heavy encyclopedia regarding thyroid health. I also am glad I do not have to google every single tidbit that’s possibly triggering my autoimmune issues. Not to mention, there aren’t too many voices from the functional medicine community that I’ve had the opportunity to hear from, and that alone is a breath of fresh air!I felt confirmation that I indeed was not “crazy” or that these symptoms were “all in my head” after reading this book. The conventional medicine doctors I was seeing have simply not been trained to prevent disease, only to manage it. Their lab work is also very different than that of functional medicine doctors, so I better understand why my labs didn’t qualify me to be sick...the lab values are just different in functional medicine! So, I’m glad I can get a head start on my health, manage the symptoms I currently have before anything spirals out of control, and I don’t have to be bound to prescription medicine if I don’t want to be (however I know it will be available if ever needed, too!)Thank you again for writing this book!

Same Ole, Same Ole
Easy to read, with some good information. Honestly was underwhelmed, the reset is basically a Whole30, which I have done multiple times. Was hoping for a new try for my Hashimoto’s weight loss resistance, and instead found the same ole information.

Great book!
It’s a great book! Very informative & interesting read. Only thing I’ve noticed is on Pg 26-27 the section “Why your doctor’s blood tests may not be uncovering your thyroid condition” gets repeated word for word on pg 28-29. Maybe it’s just my copy that got messed up or maybe it was on purpose... Besides that, it’s a great book & I highly recommend!

A clear, inspiring book of health for EVERYONE--not just Thyroid
I will be honest and say upfront that Becky is my niece and I got the book to support her--not having Thyroid problems of my own. I will also be honest and say that I was so pleasantly surprised that I can easily give this book 5 stars-- without any bias! She has written clearly and concisely what one needs to know, including clear organized charts and graphics and beautiful pics of delicious food from recipes that are included. This is a book about health for everyone, loaded with the latest research on being healthy and feeling well. It's a very holistic book, including much more than diet alone. My book will have my kitchen as it's home as it is also a fabulous recipe book. Organized, fascinating, easy to read with inspiring photographs. Again, I would have bought this book seeing it for sale at a bookstore without knowing her at all!

Delicious recipes that taste like real food
I'm new to the whole AIP scene and have been struggling with what to eat, what not to eat. The recipes in this cookbook have been a lifesaver - lots of flavor and really satisfying. I'm not quite there yet with making my own almond milk (WHO HAS THIS MUCH TIME?!?), but this book has me feeling encouraged about my diet and the ability to stick with the protocols long term. The upfront part of the book is a quick and easy ready, with visuals that are helpful, too. Straightforward and easy to consume, I appreciate how well the author lays out a lot of data in a simple way.

You need this book!
I never write reviews on anything but I’m only on day 10 and wow what a difference. I’m never bloated, I sleep better, I have more energy, my body isn’t as achy. This is a great book and so far I’ve loved every single meal (except for a chai smoothie but I don’t like chai). Highly recommend. I will definitely be keeping a lot of these meals as staples after the reset is over! Plus all your meals look so pretty like you’re eating at a restaurant for every meal! I’ve had hypothyroidism for 17 years and this book has been sooo helpful!

To many conflicting details
I just had this book delivered and it's going back. I just had a little glance at it and found so many conflicting informations just like when you Google any tips on thyroid diet. Firstly, book should be titled "Reset plan for Hashimoto's" because that's what's its mainly about and not every thyroid illness is Hashimoto's! Not even every hypothyroidism is Hashimoto's!Look at photos which I've included. On page 66 you are being given good food suggestions incl cherries then on page 69, so not even far, cherries are included in "dirty dozen"!On the same page mangos are in "clean 15" only to be mentioned on page 72 as "fruits to be avoided"due to sugar content which we know if bad for thyroid health! This Dr must've get her ideas from Google because her "tips" are as confusing as anything you can find there. Not impressed! I'm sending it back. After seeing those mistakes, I can't be bothered to read any more.

This book works!!!
This book is a game changer. I read it from cover to cover and I'm entering my 3rd week of thyroid reset. Already, I've lost 3 inches from my waist because the bloating has subsided and I've slept fully every night since I started. The book is so well-written, you immediately know you can trust Dr. Campbell's advice because she went through the same thing! And furthermore, the recipes in the book are so realistic, easy to make and delicious. She has made it very easy to transition into this new way of eating. I am thrilled about my current results and I can not wait to see where this takes me!
