Zammex Bone Broth for Dogs, Dog Food Toppers for Picky Eaters

***Update: Zammex reached out to me after submitting my original review. They offered me my money back and explained that they had indeed tried to make this powder more nutrient dense by heating it longer. However, Zammex found that people were unhappy with the change and have now put it back to it's original recipe and is back on the shelves at Amazon. I purchased it again and have found it to be the original version that I feel good about feeding my puppy. Thank you Zammex!*** I was happy with this product the first time I used it and added it to my subscribe and save, however the second delivery that I received has a very bad smell (almost chemical smell). The size of the scoop included in the can is now larger than the original one (I can fit 2-1/2 scoops from the original can into the scoop that came with the new can), yet the serving amount suggested remains the same. One scoop per day. Seems very odd that it would be that much of a difference in the scoop size. I don't feel good feeding this to my dog anymore and will find an alternative. Whatever they changed is not good.

I purchased Zammex Grass-Fed Beef Bone Broth as a supplement for my 6 mo old golden, and it has been a great addition to his meals. The smells immediately got his attention, and he eagerly finishes his food whenever I add a little on top. I love that it's made from grass-fed beef and contains quality ingredients. It's an easy way to add extra flavor and moisture to his kibble, especially on days when Ace is a bit picky. Overall, I'm very happy with this product. Ace enjoys it, and I feel good about giving him a nutritious, flavorful addition to his diet!! Will definitely be purchasing again!

Dogs approved! So sometimes my dogs don’t drink while traveling and I find this in their water bottle helps them stay hydrated! I can’t speak for the taste other than my dogs absolutely loved it but it smelled delicious mixing in warm water. My dogs snub plain water on the road and at exciting events but this powder mix is too irresistible for them to pass up. Protip: Mix in a shaker bottle if you’ve got one! Combines nicely and blends perfectly.

I really wanted to keep loving this product. When I first started ordering this beef bone broth powder for my dogs, it was fantastic. The smell was mild and clean, it mixed well, and my boys absolutely loved it. I even set it up on Subscribe & Save because it seemed like a great addition to their routine. Unfortunately, several shipments in, something changed — and not in a good way. The most recent containers had a strong, rancid odor that was impossible to ignore. This wasn’t the normal scent of beef broth; it was sharp, sour, and clearly off. My dogs are very food-motivated and will eat just about anything mixed into their meals, so they consumed it without hesitation. Within hours, both experienced severe vomiting. That was enough for me. I immediately cancelled my Subscribe & Save. I don’t know if this is a storage issue, batch inconsistency, or quality control problem, but the difference between earlier orders and the most recent one was dramatic and concerning. Please check the product carefully before serving it to your pets. If it smells “off” in any way, trust your instincts. I’m disappointed, because it started out so well — but when it comes to my fur kids, there’s no room for compromise.

My pomchi is starting to get up there (he's 13.5yrs) and has always been a picky eater. As he's getting older, his appetite was starting to decrease. This has helped. It doesn't always work, but his appetite is better with than without. The powder is SMELLY, but maybe thats what it needs to be to get picky dogs to eat it. We give our dog about 1/4 scoop per meal (2x per day), just to entise him to eat a bit more. As for health benefits? I'm not sure. We feed a good brand dog food to our pups, and supplements and meds as needed for preventative and treatment for their various conditions. No change here Giving 4 stars because the smell and questionable health benefits.

I purchased this item 3 times since my dogs loved the first container. The second and third containers smelled and looked different, I contacted the manufacturer. They were very prompt to respond and informed me that they had changed the formula to be more palatable for dogs but have changed back. Their customer service was great and resolved my issue to my satisfaction. I am impressed with their response time and level of customer service. I would try this product again since both my dogs enjoy it as an additive to their dry food. I added a little sprinkle to their water also as it helps them stay hydrated.

I’ve been adding a spoonful to her food, and she licks the bowl clean. It’s been a great backup for those days when I don’t have time to make her usual homemade chicken broth. Super convenient, easy to mix, and apparently quite tasty (according to her standards!). So, full transparency I thought I was getting the chicken broth flavored one that I usually get. This was not it. My 9 year old lab will eat it, but will eat anything, my other 2, like 10months and 2 year old, hate this. It stunk to high heaven for being unflavored and they overall didn’t want to eat their full meal whereas with the chicken flavored they would eat their full meal. If you have an older dog or one with upset stomachs, I would recommend this. If you have picky eaters I would not recommend this
