I wanted to leave a review for this item mainly due to the fact that i had been looking for a networking solution for my household for some time and had been unable to find one that would adequately satisfy what i needed until i found this item. To say that i am happy with the purchase (at $15.99 i wasnt actually expecting much more than a low end item, which was fine since im on a budget at the moment) would be a huge understatement, This thing is amazing, after connecting it to my router via an ethernet cable the rest was history. not only was the "Gigabit Managed Switch easy on the pocketbook it also wen well above and beyond what i thought was going to be low end piece of electronics, This switch not only handles all of my home networking needs but itsd also easy to control and adjust through its IP based user interface as well as an easy to use app for my phone. Ive added a few pictures but the important one is the screenshot of the speed test that i took after connecting everything, i have 1G internet, while connecting through wifi it usually stayed at about half of what the speed test shown which isn't bad but this is much better. Okay now that all of that is said, i would just like to end with the fact that i highly recommend this item to anyone who needs an easy-to-use and setup network managed switch for there home (or anywhere i imagine), Not only was it affordable but it got to me quickly and it fitsd all my needs. This switch is awesome. It works exactly as advertised, and I've had it running in my basement for about a year now. I've definitely noticed my WiFi is working better than it was before, and when we need to print, the printer is always ready to go. The size is great—it's about 1/8 the size of the old switch I had, and best of all, it is completely silent where the other one was loud. It features 8 high-speed ethernet ports in a compact design. Plus, it has durable metal casing and intelligent heat dissipation. Overall, I'm giving this 5 stars! The value for the money is absolutely great, too!

The ad description didn't mention anything about if the device came with its own power adapter, so I wasn't sure if it would work for me since I don't have a POE device to provide power. It did come with a power adapter, so I was able to power it up. It works straight out of the box, just plug a RJ45 wire from your Internet router to the switch (i used port 1) and it will start working. Make sure your cables to your devices support 1000mbps or you will not get the full speed of switch. Now my speed tests I don online show my speed maxes out at 500mbps which is what my current service plan provides. This is a good product. If you want to access its administration page, you can do it before you plug in your internet cord by plugging in your pc and going to 10.0.0.10 IP address in your browser. If you have your internet cable plugged into the switch you need to find the IP assigned to the switch to access the administration page. You can use a free program like Advanced IP Scanner to find the IP address of the switch. None of this is explained in the setup paper, so it can be confusing if you are not familiar with working with network switches. Still a great price and a great piece of hardware.

I will update should I need to. The switches came fast, very quick shipping. They arrive in simple packages in perfect shape, which was nice. They include the power supply. Very easy to setup, they arrive with DHCP enabled so a quick advanced ip scan and they were easy to find. Once configured I noticed firmware was different and reached out to their support. They were fantastic, worked with me to identify what was needed and sent the firmware and instruction to apply in sequence. I tested port shutdowns, very simple. Although they aren't overly advanced they are perfect for a simple managed Switch. You have the option of cloud or local manage on 16 port and 8 port versions and the value is amazing.

I recently upgraded my network setup by replacing my old 5-port switch with the STEAMEMO 8 Port Gigabit Switch. So far, it's been a smooth transition. It’s good however with some limitations as I found .. First of all it did work as an Ethernet switch .. I was able to connect and test my home Ethernet locations after connecting this to my router. My Ethernet port in bedroom, living room and media room did get an internet connection. So, working as a bridge for splitting and adding more ports to my router .. worked However, unlike stated the speed was nowhere close to what I anticipate from a gigabit port switch.. it was everywhere below 100 mbps .. And so we know .. I tested with one at a time to ensure speed is not split between devices. My WiFi speed at same location was better than lan speed. Also, the Poe feature also didn’t work.. my PoE wap had to be connected to powered switch to get PoE .. The PoE port on the switch didn’t work as directo PoE source for the WAP. So at the price point it’s okay to use as bridge to increase lan ports however not exactly provided features as stated on product description and what I expected it to provide I’ve added photos that I’m using it as a bridge but second photo shows PoE switch I had to use as PoE on this switch didn’t work.. Hassle to do entire setup again to kept it as simple bridge than going over setup again

This is a very decent little switch that we picked up while it was on sale. Since we are an IT business, we have quite a few switches that cost far more and do far less than this little guy does, so, we would not hesitate to recommend this to someone looking for a decent managed switch on the cheap.
