More expensive but solved the problem unlike my first purchase
Don't waste your money on cheap replacements. I had a leaking valve so went to the local hardware/plumbing store and bought what they had (not cheap but of course - made in China). It leaked literally out of the box and it was not just a loose packing nut or something like that. Pointless to return as I am in a more rural area and I would have to drive and take time only to get the same item in exchange. Sharkbite was certainly more expensive but was better quality on inspection and feel (weight). Easy replacement and works fine. Problem solved.

might get wrong size
i ordered the 10" size and received a 12" silcock in a mislabeled plastic bag. luckily i was able to move pipe to accomodate. otherwise worked great. so much easier than sweating or gluing joints
