Hi, Please do not waste your money on Frontline, it does not work at all. We have had loads of fleas this year. I had to take my dogs and one of my cats to the vet in the end, because I could not get rid of the fleas and my pets were getting skin irritation from scratching the itches. The vet told me the only Household Defence spray they recommended was Virbec Indorex. I did my entire flat with this spray, carpets, nils and crannies, sofa (underneath the cushions and down the crevices at the back), furniture, window sills, just everywhere! I washed all blankets pillow cases, sprayed the mattress, under the bed. Yes, I was on a mission! My cats all had Credelio oral tablets, as one is allergic to the drops, the dogs were treated with Advantage. One month on an no fleas whatsoever! Yay!!! I redid the entire house with the spray after hoovering two weeks later. After the initial first spray, I did leave it a few days, before hoovering so it would work well on the little critters. I redid it all two weeks later, to make sure I’d annihilated any hatching eggs! 
I am now going to stick to this routine every month. Watch out for another explosion when you put your heating on later in the year, the heat will wake up any dormant eggs that have been missed, thus back to square on! I wish you luck on your journey my lovely! Just don’t buy this useless spray, it really doesn’t work. I di my entire house with it three times throughly! Fleas were not diminished in the slightest. 
**Another tip is to comb your cat with a nit comb every day. I have a bowl handy with boiling water in, with a piece of kitchen towel in it with Indorex on it up wipe the comb after each stroke, if there are fleas present. But do it so the k towel is folded, wipe the comb between the k towel, if you know what I mean. Watch out though the lil things jump ship quickly! I really hope this helps you and anyone else who reads it.

Can this be used in rooms where it is already being aired? Or do the windows have to be kept closed first?

Accepted Answer

The windows must be kept closed for the spray to have maximum effect.  Windows should be opened after 24 hrs and rooms aired for around 2 hours before letting any pet back into the room.  Also, this spray can be toxic to humans and result in severe irritation so I advise caution!  Be very careful if you are using it on bedding and definitely do NOT use on pet bedding.

How long to wait before spraying again?

It recommends six months on the can. But it is ok to do it in three or four months if you like. But with fleas your best friend really is a very powerful hoover. Go over floors and pet bedding literally every day, this gets up any flea eggs and and wandering fleas. Don't forget edges of carpets too. The stick re chargeable cleaners are not powerful enough. You will need a big Shark or Dyson to really sort them out. Also flea comb your pet at least twice a day, have a glass of water handy, and if you comb off a flea, drown it. Hope this helps.
