I bought this book because it’s about my 8th great-grandaunt and several other Pilgrim ancestors. It was written with the help of Mayflower records and although formatted for children, I really enjoyed it. This book provides insight about that historical journey while making it a pleasant read.

My daughter and I read this together. I grew up in Massachusetts, and was steeped in the Pilgrim story early. This book really brought it to life. Although a fictional account of historical people, I had know trouble accepting the characters actually relating to each other, and to the challenges they faced as believable. A very good story with just the right amount of "faith" written in. The Pilgrims were a devote, Christian people. To tell this story without highlighting this fact would be intellectually dishonest.

It's an excellent, historically accurate story based on a real child that sailed on the Mayflower! It made for a dramatic read-aloud for my nine year old daughter and reinforced what we have been learning about the hardships that the Pilgrims endured during and after their voyage to the New World. It might be harder to understand for younger children since it is narrated in Old English, but my daughter enjoyed it and actually applied the Old English style to her own journaling! The story is wonderfully inspiring and it emphasizes and reveals God's faithfulness in the midst of our human struggles.

I love that I found this and got it for my mom as a gift because after years and years of tracking our ancestry, she discovered that we are direct descendants of Mary Chilton. I believe she is my great x10 grandmother!

I really liked how this book told me about things I didn't know before; how bad things actually were (and how extreme!) I also liked that it had a dictionary in the back! (I think about dutch words) Overall it was an amazing book for all ages, especially fifth and sixth grade!

Loved reading thisBook to my kids and brought to life the people of the Mayflower. So much better than reading about it in a history book.

Quick read for adults and great history lesson for children. Especially descendants of Mary Chilton Winslow.

Wholesome book, based on true account. I bought this for a history unit, but my daughter read the whole book in 2 nights.

Good Book.......again, will read to my grandchildren- or, have them read it to me when they are able.
