Makita A-93681 10-Inch 80 Tooth Micro Polished Mitersaw Blade Silver

This will be a short review. The sharpness of the factory blade that came with my Makita compound miter saw went the way of the dinosaur. It was time for something fresh. I looked at what was available and chose the Makita 80t. I thought the price was fair and the reviews good. Maybe all the blades out there would/will perform similarly so I'm not going to say this is the best blade ever made. I will say that it is very sharp, cuts clean, runs true, and is a relatively narrow kerf design. I have a Forrest blade for the Makita and it cuts well but removes a lot more materiel since it is quite a bit thicker. Bottom line... I'd be really surprised if you weren't completely satisfied... thrilled even. Best blade ever? Maybe, maybe not but it's a very, very good blade.

This blade excels in a sliding miter saw for trim carpentry applications. It produces cuts that are glue-ready and wastes a minimum of material. It will handle heavier materials, though with some effort. I have used it on 2x for framing and even the occasional PT, and it does fine, albeit rather slowly, as one would expect from an 80t blade. It does fairly well on plywood. But what it really shines at is crosscuts in fairly thin material, like 1x boards and moldings. The cuts are just gorgeous and blowouts are minimal, even with fairly delicate finger-joint pine millwork. It is manufactured in Thailand. I have had mixed results with Makita blades over the years, and I had low expectations of an imported blade this cheap. But this one has proven itself to be a real winner.

This highly competively priced Makita is one of the best saw blades I’ve ever used. And certainly the best one for my sliding miter saw. Miter saws are loud and create a lot of dust. This thin kerf blade tackles both problems well. The thin kerf significantly reduces dust and is quieter than a normal kerf blade. The lower resistance also reduces the blade's tendency to climb on dado cuts. Through cuts, using both hard and soft wood, are smooth and clean. I don’t use a thin kerf blade on my table saw because of the occassional blade deflection. But there is almost no deflection on a miter saw so thin kerf is highly appropriate.

Impossibly sharp and incredibly long lasting. I bought this two years ago for use on an old hitachi miter saw. I have not noticed ANY degradation of cut quality over TWO YEARS of mild to moderate use. Two years of mildish use may not sound like much but when I bought this blade I did not know what I was doing and performed relatively dangerous cuts causing the blade to seize and kickback on the miter saw; and yet I have the same cut quality as the day I installed it. The only con I have noticed is minor and maybe not even a bad thing overall for newbies: If I cut too hard (and cause chatter) or cut with inadequate work holding (and the blade is suddenly forced into a new cut line) the blue paint rubs off onto the work piece. This paint is pernicious and takes lots of sanding or another cut to remove especially from end grain. If you use this blade with the correct feed rate and firm (aka safe) work holding this will not occur. I learned that blue paint on my work meant I screwed up and had to find a new approach to make a cut so this con was actually a positive in my case. If the blade I bought for $40ish dollars two years ago ever stops cutting perfectly I will purchase the same exact thing again.

The first blade I received was shipped in a box that was too small so the blade was packaged at an angle and no flat surface to rest on.. sure enough it wobbled right out of the package so I returned it and the next blade was better but still had a slight wobble. I figured it must have been the arbor on my saw until I put a new freud on it and it spun perfectly true. I will say that the very first one of these blades I purchased about 9 months ago was easily the best blade I’ve ever found at this price point. Might be a quality control issue but it’s your call

It's really quite exceptional. Great cut quality, long-lasting, and super affordable. I really like Freud Diablo blades and it compares quite favorably - perhaps better! My only gripe is that none of my local stores stock this blade. It's nice being able to run down to the big Orange store and grab a new Freud blade, but at the same time in my area you're going to have to spend nearly double (if not more!) to get the same cut quality from a Freud blade. 9 times out of 10 I'm happy to wait a day or two for Prime shipping if it means saving ~30 bucks. Just have to be prepared! Overall, I have no complaints. Highly recommended!

Smaller profile that cuts easily and evenly leaving a smooth cross cut surface. Didn't realize how dull my miter saw blade was until I replaced it with this one. Needed an 80 tooth for my DeWalt table saw and tried the Wen. After suffering through jams and burns and irregular cut dimensions, I realized the new blade was warped, like a bicycle wheel out of true. Sent it back and ordered another one of these Makita blades and was surprised how much better it worked. True smooth cuts with no hang ups or snags while cutting. The wood just glided through the blade. Read somewhere these are not specifically designed for table saws, but seems to work fine on mine.

Very impressive.... Was not expecting that quality at this price, not sure who makes it for Makita but it is a serious woodworkers blade.

I'm a handyman and certainly do not claim to be a trim carpenter but this blade cuts like a hot knife through butter. Good quality. Finished cut is smooth. Best I can say is I'm not disappointed about buying this blade.
