This little half case fits the Leica D Lux 8 perfectly! All openings are accessible and it comes with a key to tighten the case onto the camera. Very nice quality!

The case is made and reasonably priced. Two rather unfortunate issues mean it will sit in a drawer until I have a compelling need that overrides the drawbacks.First, the case partially blocks the Focus switch (left side of the lens). I use it rather a lot, and the case makes it difficult to access. I have rather small hands, so I imagine it would be worse for normal or large hands.Second, the base plate is 9mm thick! Why? All that's required a 2mm thick metal plate with some minimal padding to prevent scratching the paint on the bottom of the camera. The unnecessary thickness significantly increases the overall height of the combined camera and case, from 69mm to 78mm, making it noticeably less compact. Worse, the thickness of the base plate results in a deep well surrounding the battery/SD card access door. With the case installed, the door opens sufficiently to remove/replace the battery, but there isn't enough space to grasp and remove the SD card with fingers alone (tweezers or needle-nose pliers would work). So if the SD card needs to be swapped in the field, the case would have to be removed to gain access.So the case went in a drawer, to be used only when thee need for protection overrides the disadvantages. It's nice looking, well made, and reasonably priced, but the design interferes with camera functionality. It appears to have been designed by someone who never actually used the camera.

Beautifully crafted "shell". A great representation of a beautiful design. A fraction of the camera manufacturers like product a an incomparable price. Think tremendous value!
