My review was for the COVER, not the Mixer. Obviously, if I bought the cover for the mixer, I do own a mixer, but I must say that I do not really understand your question. Truthfully, I would not know how to answer anything regarding voltage and such. Sorry I can't help!

I have a 4.5 qt and its pretty snug. I am not sure how much of a difference the .5 qt makes

No, from what I understand it would not. The shapes of the machines are not the same and this is a fitted cover, therefore it would not fit a lift-bowl mixer. You have to look for a cover made specifically for the lift-bowl mixer.

Q: Can you store the pouring shield on the bowl with this cover?

No, the cover is not wide enough. Once, the cover goes on the mixer the pour shield fells into the bowl. Which doesn't allow the cover to zip.
