We have searched for and tried many HDMI fiber converters. These are our current favorites. They are compact, work well and are covered in a good cast aluminum enclosure that does a god job of preventing radiated RF interference. Many of the competing products use duplex fiber, but these are simplex (one fiber) which reduces the cost in installation. In addition they are a good value, performing as well as devices that cost 4 times as much. Re-rated 10/31/25... The overall performance of these devices is quite good, but I had to lower the rating (a lot), because the actual fiber connection is unreliable. A mechanical error in the housing creates a loose connection such that even with the fiber in place, the fiber can be pulled out slightly (perhaps 2-3mm) resulting in complete signal loss. If this problem were fixed, I would be buying these in large quantity for my work, but I can no longer recommend them

Micro-usb at this price is not encouraging. It’s inconvenient power as I have very few micro cables left and it’s a bit of a sigh when I see “new” devices needing it. These are clearly older devices repackaged.

Now that I know they can make these extenders in the smaller form factor, that's what I'll be looking for in the future. The connection here is strong - no noticeable lag and you don't have to worry about the connection being interrupted. Never heard of this brand, but I'm happy with this extender kit.
