Palmyra - Mirage in the Desert (Metropolitan Museum of Art (MAA) (YUP))

These were beautiful people who surrounded themselves with beauty…as beautiful people tend to do. There was too much of it for ISIS to destroy so they killed the lead archeologist who wouldn’t tell them where he hid more wonderful odjects. In honor him I hope to visit one day. This book will do nicely until then!

This book is not recommended. The whole point with the book would have been to have glossy (and big) pictures of the fantastic site Palmyra. In the book the pictures are few, small and often irrelevant (mainly focussing on statues etc instead of the site as a whole). Big disappointment. Now have to try the Wolfe Expedition book instead.
