AN IMPROVEMENT IN GAMEPLAY MAKES THIS AN OVERALL FUN GAME.
Game case , manual and disc are in excellent condition. Budokai 2's take on the story mode is quite different and unusual compared to other DBZ games with it's Dragon World mode. The mode plays like a game of chess with each side having different characters taking the role of a chess piece and the story mode taking many liberties from the original storyline. Gameplay overall is quite similar to Budokai 1 but it did add many improvements such as using energy blasts at will and adding button prompt mini-games during special attacks which helps to balance the game. The World Tournament mode is unchanged from Budokai 1 and can still be won using the ring out strategy from the last game. As for the Badibi Spaceship mode, having different criteria to pick from is fun you are limited to four modes and unlocking the 4 characters plus all the skills you want is still a chore. Overall it is a moderate improvement over Budokai 1. Overall a 4/5.

Good, but not perfect.
When I found this game on my doorstep, i nearly wet myslef with anticipation. The FMV sequence at the beggining was amazing, the fact its in spoken english was even better and the ability to do fusions with respective characters (Goku + hercule, Goku + vegeta, Goten + Trunks...Im nto sure if you can absorb as Majin Buu yet though.) Its a lot more challenging than budokai, I flew through that in a day. you have to really use your head when against Kid Buu, or just be really good at the game. But, to my dissapointment, the story mode has been replaced with...a chess board. instead of the super cheesy gameplay of budokai when its like your playing the show, you feel like your about to gouge your eyes out with boredom after a while. it doesn't even follow the story, i mean, freiza and cell come back about 5 times. But the thing theyve really improved on is the gameplay. there were times in budokai when I thought, hey wouldn't it be good if you could do that...or something. The opponent can input into your moves, say i do a zanku fist or woteva, goku will do the combo then come flying down and it ask you to press /_\ square 0 or X. If the opponent presses the same, they'll dodge it. you can attempt to push back spirit bombs and death balls n stuff like that aswell. And once you get all the dragonballs (which is a lot easier than in the first budokai, thank god) you can wish for a new game mode where you have to gather energy for babidi by completing battles with special conditions. Its a lot harder to unlock characters too, most are unlocked in the 'babidi' mode. I still havn't fully completed this game, i only have about 38% of the capsules, but...its starting to get a bit old. Despite all this, this is definatly the best DBZ game you can get in the UK, and the fights just look amazing, i dont know how many times ive done a warp kamehameha with ssj3 goku or fused into veggitto; The cel shading is great. Definatly worth every penny, but dont beleive all the internet rumours......like I did (sob). This game is definatly an Improvment on the first, I think its just me with beat 'em ups, once youve played one bout...yove played the whole game...really.
