They really work!
I have never really got on with tampons and other internal period products, but these are fantastic! They also enabled me to keep swimming during my period which was a little nerve wracking but worked perfectly fine! Honestly I was a little dubious about this product, but they really do exactly as described, and are easy to insert, plus soft and not uncomfortable. Pinch it together, push in at an angle then use your index finger to push it up so it is level (internally) and pull the tab thing to nicely ensure it's sat comfortable. The biggest issue is removing it really, it is a messy job, there's just no other way to do it, but I find doing it in the shower helps minimise clean up! It does empty itself when you go to the toilet, and especially in summer you do feel fresher. Anyone who's a little nervous, I think this a great product to try out!

Comfortable, convenient and completely worry-free
I decided to try the 2 Menstrual Pixie Discs (No Metals or TPE) and I’m so glad I did. They’re made from soft, flexible medical-grade silicone, which makes them really comfortable once in place — you honestly forget you’re even wearing one. I especially like that there are no metals or TPE involved, so it feels much safer and more reassuring to use. They’re easy to insert and remove with a bit of practice, and they sit securely without leaks when positioned correctly. I’ve worn them for several hours at a time without any issues. Having two in the pack is really handy as well — one to use while the other is being cleaned or stored. They’re also far more cost-effective and eco-friendly compared to constantly buying disposable products. If you’re considering switching to discs, these are a great, comfortable option that feel high quality and reliable.

Wish I’d Known About the Self-Emptying Feature, but fab customer service!
Disc is Self-Emptying when using the loo, I would reccomened panty liners to be paired with this as it leaves excess in the vaginal canal after you have finished. I wish I’d done a bit more research before choosing this product. I actually quite like using this disc for light flow days, and it’s comfortable once you get the hang of it. Unlike tampons, I’d recommend choosing your size based on your anatomy — not your flow — as the sizes vary a lot in fit, not just capacity. They are easy to clean and feel hygienic. The kit itself is thoughtfully put together. While I personally don’t use the wipes or lube, it’s a nice bonus to have them included, especially with the travel bag. However, what let this product down for me was the lack of clear information — particularly around a key feature: this disc self-empties when you go to the toilet. This is actually an intended feature due to the shape and placement. This is currently mentioned lower down in the description but I would reccomened heading to their website for further info on this. I purchased this hoping for a cleaner, leak-free experience, but that hasn’t always been the case. It’s a shame because I may have chosen differently if this had been clearer upfront and gone for their cup. That said, I’ve heard better things about their cup (not the disc), which apparently creates a seal and doesn’t have the self-emptying feature — I hope to give that a try next. EDIT- the company has kindly reached out and offered me either a full refund, or their pixie cup combo kit instead. I will be trying the cup and reviewing this next. Increased stars from 2 to 4 down to the self emptying feature being described on the listing (lower down in the description) and the amazing customer service from the company!

Game changer
This has absolutely changed my life. I researched quite a lot before buying, and even more before I came to use it. The pull string is super handy, though I am pretty sure in time I will be confident to use without. I'm not sure if I'm just lucky, but placing it has been easy so far, I cannot feel it (apart from the string at times). I did have a leak, but I think that is part of the learning curve and I am sure in a few cycles time I won't need any back up products because I'll be more confident in it. Give it a go, it's incredible.

Tricky to position correctly
Not sure of them tried for two times for a week was more leakage than with basic cups i used to use. Might need more practice or instructions should be more in depth we have different cervixes after all.

Material
I’ve been a current menstrual cup user for 4 years and I wanted to give a try to the disc, as I’ll prefer a 12h + long lasting period product which I can auto dump when I’m away from home for long hours unlike the period cup that can last max 6-7 hours ( during heavy flows). Personally, the silicone of the disc it’s way too soft and hard to fix on top of my pelvic bone + the applicator is very uncomfortable and not practical as well.

Prefer a cup
Actual product is very good quality and clearly carefully put together with a lot of thought in the packet that comes with wipes, and zip up pouch etc… I was hopeful the disc would be a good change from cups that I’ve been using for years. But it’s has been the most stressful period I’ve had with leaking and discomfort. The disc seems to dislodge no matter how hard I try to make sure it’s correct and tried both sizes, after reading and watching instructions still leaks bad. The self emptying is not what I expected and seems to do it when I’m just sat at my desk or on the sofa and I’m having to run to the toilet with constant gushing feeling. It only seems to work when I was asleep led down. I wish I’d paid half the price and stuck with the cup :( might work for others though!

No small included in the package, misleading ad
Unfortunately the description appears to be for a large and a small disc, yet have received a medium and large. I have never used discs before but have used cups so am fairly competent “navigating” myself as far as menstrual products go. I have tried several times with the medium disc and unfortunately I think it is too big for me, as it leaks and I am fairly sure I can’t “tuck” it behind my pubic bone like the instructions say because it is too large. Just be aware you will be getting a med and a large when you order this package. The wipes and lube are appreciated but can’t use them as I don’t think these discs are the right size for me

Needs getting used to but it works!
I had tried different cups before and the suction part + the fact that on my heaviest days I still need to take them out a few times to empty them, did contribute to my overall dissatisfaction. I have a very heavy flow and on busier days it's just a nightmare. I was sceptical at first but I have a friend who sweared that discs were the best option out there so I gave it a try last month with the pixie applicator. To be honest I am still getting used to them but I can say for sure that the lack of suction, the applicator assisting with the insertion and the fact I don't have to take it out during the day (just bear down, dump the blood and flex my muscles to reposition it) has made it a lot better than the cup experience. Yes, there is a mess sometimes but I just make sure it's above the toilet. I take it out only morning and evening to wash it and I boil it after the cycle ends.

Top notch products and customer service
The product itself looks and feels to be of superior quality and the packaging is cute, functional, and comes with some handy extras like feminine wipes and lubricant to help with inserting the disc. I ordered these discs in hopes of spending less money (my period is heavy and lasts 8 days, so I go through a lot of tampons) and reducing my impact on the environment. I went with the discs over the cups because I had tried disposable cups from another brand some 15 years ago and I could just not figure out how to get it inserted correctly. Then again, that company didn't have multiple instructional videos like Pixie does on proper application. Anyway, I bought the discs (and the applicator, separately). I was able to to get it inserted first try, and I'm fairly certain it was inserted completely and correctly, and it was comfortable! I thought all was well until I experienced "dumping" which may have only been a small release of the contents of the disc, and it may have only happened while I was otherwise relieving myself, but with my super heavy flow and prior experiences bleeding through whatever menstrual product I was wearing, I was a little too paranoid about leaking that I have decided this product is probably not for me. I want it to be known I didn't actually leak (other than a few drops after using the toilet) in the few days I tried out the disc, but the anxiety around the possibility of leaking was too much. Why did I give the product 5 stars? Well, first of all, it's a great product, and seems to work out for plenty of other people. Just not for me. More importantly though, is because of Pixies customer service. I reached out to them hoping they might have some way to help with my situation, as I had spent a decent amount of money on the few Pixie items I felt I needed to start my reusable period product journey (The money spent however pales in comparison to the money I've spent on tampons alone over the course of half a year). Pixie responded - so swiftly - letting me know they'd have a set of cups sent to me to try within the next few days. Free of charge and no questions asked. I'd done research before buying the discs. I vaguely remember reading something in a review about "dumping". I'd researched the cups and saw there were instructional videos available that didn't exist 15 years ago. All those things told me to buy the cups and despite all that I went for the discs. But this company clearly values their mission over profits and for that, I can't recommend them enough.

Less crampy, less usage on tampons + pads
I was looking into alternative options because I hate spending so much $$ every month for my period needs. I have really bad heavy flow and sometimes wearing super tampons with thick pad I’ll still leak. I have strong cramps that I take 400-800mg Advils and heating pads for. I used menstrual discs for the first time ever and let me tell you Pros: It’s super easy to insert. It’s like inserting a tampon, but hurts less since it’s not as dry/absorbing. I can wear this for 12 hours and I don’t leak (if inserted properly)?? Very unusual for me, especially on those heavy days. It’s comfortable and I forget I have it in. It’s easy to wash. I have a mini pixie steamer to disinfect this when I’m done using it. I noticed that I cramped way less and I didn’t have to take Advils for it, which is freaking awesome. Con’s: Since it’s my first time, I think I didn’t insert it correctly twice out of the four days I used this which cause me to leak. I had to continue wearing liners while using. I strongly recommend watching videos on how to place this correctly to understand what you’re doing. It’s messy when taking it out, so be prepared for that.
