The loop end handles blackheads cleanly, and the lance end works for whiteheads that have already surfaced. The pressure distributes more evenly than fingertips, which I think is the real difference: less skin trauma and less of that bruised, sore-the-next-day spot you get when you go at it the old-fashioned way. That said, I want to be honest — this is not a comfortable experience and I am definitely not an esthetician. There's a learning curve. If you push too hard, or use the wrong tool for the wrong type of blemish, you will know it. A few honest notes if you're new to these: • Sanitize before AND after every use (rubbing alcohol is fine) • Don't go after anything that isn't already at the surface • Stop sooner than you think you should For the price, two well-made tools is a fair value. You get what you paid for. It is definitely sharp but don’t think it will last is you drop it on the sink. Some tools feel fairly solid and some very cheap. Compared to some reviews maybe I just got a bad or mixed batch. The thicker more solid feel tools work fairly well but might as well trash the light weight ones as they will bend/break if you apply any pressure to them. The storage is nice to have but it is just a lightweight tin case with a foam insert laying in the bottom. Tools rattle around just picking the tin up. You will have to search for tool you want every time you open it unless you remove some of them.
