Great gadget, especially if you're a newbie to the electronics world like me?.
As someone who's still learning everyday, this is a very useful little gadget. I wouldn't say I'm anything close to competent but I have managed to fix a couple of graphics cards and another board. This has been very useful as I've had to take components of other broken things. But not knowing what the capacitors and the resistors at the 0402 size are due to their very tiny size. This has been immensely useful. Now that said, it does have a lot of issues picking up 0402 resistors. You have to try multiple times with a few different things such as mosfets Dr. It can take a few tries to get the right reading. But even if all it did was tell me the capacitors that pays for itself so 5/5.

The FNIRSI LCR-P1 is a very nice tester, but has a few niggles
The good thing is that the FNIRSI LCR-P1 is easy to use, for classic componects, transistors, diodes, capacitors etc, you connect them to the ZIF Socket, if you need to test SMD components, the ZIF Socket lifts out and the SMD Component tester fits in it's place. When testing this device, It has given values close to that of other testers, so it is fairly accurate, so I'm confident to use this for component testing components from now on. A nice electronic component tester for the price, but it does have it's niggles. I would have seen a better, clearer manual, especially for the beginners in electronics, the x3 test hooks are a bit flimsy, I would have like to have seen a littler better quality and maybe fitted with a 1x3 Pin dupont connector instead of 1x1Pin dupont connectors and having to insert them indivudually in to the device. The latest firmware v1.0.9 was installed, but it's not properly explained in the manual how to update the device, there are some youtube videos that will help you update the firmware. I thought I would check to see if the software worked. Initially it wouldn't work at all as it couldn't find an actual com port, to solve this I did the following to create a virtual COM port in Windows 11. In the Settings, Go to Bluetooth & Devices >then Devices > More Bluetooth Settings > COM Ports and add an incoming port to force the software to detect a connection. If after the firmware update, the screen is blank, open the FNIRSI LCR-P1 and disconnect the battery, the reconnect the battery, this should force a hard reboot. Yashima

Inaccurate ESR
ESR measured on a number of capacitors was way off compared with an ST-5S and LCR-ST1. After updating to the latest firmware version V1.0.9, the unit locked up and the buttons non-functional. This is a known issue. The unit had to be opened up and the battery disconnected and reconnected. The firmware did update. Returned the tester.

A great addition to my test bench. Combines several devices into one unit.
Review for FNIRSI LCR-P1 transistor tester. I used two methods to verify the accuracy of this tester. First, by comparing the readings against my multi-meter, and second, by testing known value parts and comparing the readings. First test was with an ancient Germanium transistor. The tester identified the lead pin out, the polarity as PNP, the Vbe (base to emitter voltage) and hFE (current gain). The hFE was close to what the multi-meter read. As another test tried rotating the transistor one half turn and reinserting into the socket and it still identified the leads correctly. Next, resistor function was checked. Again, the readings were very close to what my Multi-meter read. Then Capacitance function was checked. The tester will read value and ESR (Equivalent series resistance). The values matched the multi-meter with some exceptions. It read a 2000 Pf mica capacitor as 1nF (1000 pf) that is a 50% error. Yet the Multi-meter read the correct value. Next inductance was checked. It will show the value and DC resistance of the inductor. In this case I was only able to verify the DC resistance against the multi-meter. Also tested the zener diode function. The zener voltage shown was very close to the rated value of the part. Finally, used tester to read the codes of various infrared remote controls. It could not read all remotes, not sure why. This tester does have a few quirks. When you first press the test button to wake up the unit it will show "unknown/No component/Or damaged" just press the button again and the test will proceed normally. Also the value sometimes shows as only one significant digit (1 nf) not high accuracy. One more note and this is not mentioned in the manual when charging the battery, the LED indicator will change from red to green when the battery is fully charged. To sum up, this is a well designed tester which combines several devices into one unit. The instruction manual is clear and well written. The only drawback is there is no USB power module included, but if you are like me you already have several of these lying around.
