More enjoyable than the previous movie.
Personally I wasn't too impressed with "Jurassic World". So, I didn't have very high expectations of this sequel "Fallen Kingdom".However, I found myself captivated by the starting sequence. Ok, there are many "it's behind you moments" throughout the movie, which some might find tiresome, though within these some don't play out as per expectations, which is refreshing and some I found myself laughing at through surprise. The characters Claire and Owen are well established and felt like they could be real life people. Bryce Dallas Howard and Chris Pratt work well. There are humerous moments between the character in this movie that actually work. Unlike the previous movie where the inter personal humour felt very contrived. The overall story does have a few plot holes, but nothing you can't getover. As for the storyline, I was pleasantly surprised by how strong I felt it was. During my 48 hours rental period, I watched it twice. There are guest appearances Jeff Goldblum, James Cromwell, Geraldine Chaplin and BD Wong. All performances add value to the overall movie. By which I mean, in other movies sometimes you can have an actor as a guest just to draw an audience. The bad guy in this movie, Eli Mills, (portrayed by Rafe Spall) isn't developed enough for one to loath and sit hoping for a grisly ending. He is mean, has ulterior motives and his moral compass is slightly off but it's not enough to wish him a grisly ending.A new character Maisie Lockwood is introduced (portrayed by Isabella Sermon). Who could easily have been the main character of the storyline, with Claire and Owen supporting. The child actor was very well cast. (unlike the two bratty teenage boys in the previous movie). Some of her scenes were alone, which I hear/read can be difficult for some actors but she (at a young age) seems to understand her craft and really sold her performance, I hope she gets many more movie and TV roles. Two supporting characters, Zia and Franklin, are introduced but neither of these characters really bring any outstanding value to the storyline. These characters' interactions could've been performed by other lesser background characters to no detriment to the movie. Zia and Franklin provided a little light humour here and there. The dinosaurs are great in terms of CGI quality and their own characters/personalities. Sadly, the movie trailers build up the newly genetically engineered Indo Raptor but the movie doesn't explorer its (the Indo Raptor) full potential. Perhaps the extended cut has extra Indo Raptor screen time.I believe there are a few "nods" to the 1993 Jurassic Park movies, enjoy them.I think I watched this at £3.49 after subtracting Amazon promo credit. After watching this movie I did feel that if I'd paid 11.99 to buy a digital copy, it wouldn't have been a bad purchase. All in all, quite pleased.

Loved it!
I um'd and ah'd about buying this film because of the negative reviews but decided I wanted to see for myself and I'm glad I did because I loved it. I'm quite a fan of all the Jurassic Park films even though I'm not a dino nut or anything and I do think the early ones are shown on TV way to often I do still find myself turning over to watch them again and again. I think with more and more things on the news about people taking Drs to court because some want experimental treatments that drs don't think they should have while others want to die with dignity the way drs won't allow the question of should drs be allowed to do things just because they found that they can is as relevant now as it was back when the first film came out and you have the added clone girl here too. Sorry if that's a spoiler but if you don't figure it out the first time the old man is looking through the photo album you need spoilers. This film is 5* from me, there was only one thing that bugged me about the whole film, they drive off with the girl like they are a family who are going to raise her, don't know how adoption works in America but even with her 'granddad' and legal guardian dead I think it still counts as kidnapping to just drive off with a little girl in pretty much any country in the world, definitely does in the UK. Maybe they'll cover that in the next film because it looks like there will be a next film and I for one hope there is.
