Best "greener" disposable diaper
Before our baby was born we began research on diapering options with the goal of reducing environmental impact. There are just times that disposables are most useful and within that category we found Earth's Best to be the best product. The closest comparison in terms of materials and manufacturing practices is Seventh Generation---and I like the company and many of their other products---but our baby cried and fussed when we tried their diapers. They are rougher and the leg holes not as "fitted." Our daughter got red marks near her legs and hips despite our careful positioning of tabs, etc. She had NO problems with Earth's Best. She began wearing them at about 6 pounds and is still wearing them nicely at 8 pounds. We have had no leaks and no irritations. We plan to continue using them as she grows. She wears them mostly at night and we use G diapers during the day.

NO LEAKS!
I was very pleased with these diapers. They fit my newborn (born 6lbs.9oz) for six weeks and we didnt have a single leak. I admit there were a couple nights that he slept long stretches and we were grateful that they kept the moisture contained. No diaper rashes and its nice to know that of disposable options, these are a good choice. I actually prefer these to Seventh Generation. The only downside is that when the diaper gets very full it leaves moisture beads on my son's skin but if that's my worst complaint i'd say these are a five star product.

Earth's Best, Andy Pandy or Huggies for newborns?
When I was expecting my son i did my research on diapers and decided on Andy Pandy. My son was born 6lb 2oz and i started using Andy Pandy diapers. They are on the bigger side but worked ok except we had few leaks at night and i had to change the baby and the bedding in the middle of the night. I had to fold them on his tummy because the diaper goes pretty high and was in the way of his umbilical cord stump. After the stump fell off I ended up buying Huggies because the diapers i was using were rubbing his belly button and making it bleed. Huggies worked great, no leaks and great fit. because Andy Pandy are on the expensive side i decided to try Earth's Best. I am glad i did! We've gone through 160 diapers and not a single leak although i noticed that they slide somewhat off my baby's bottom when full but still do not leak. Another thing i noticed with them is that my son's skin gets stuck to them sometimes but some lotion on his skin seems to take care of that. Overall, my favorite diaper is Huggies. I don't have a single complaint about them. If only they did not have all the chemicals i am trying to avoid I would absolutely go with them. As it is i am sticking with Earth's Best as the second best choice.

Good diapers-good price-newborn size/YEAR LATER UPDATE sizes N-3
Love what these diapers are made of. They hold a l o t of pee. We've only had a couple blow outs when the poop exited her system with such speed and ferocity that nothing could stop it(faster than the absorption rate of the diaper) out of 120 diapers so far, that's only happened 3 times. UPDATE: so we found out that if you adjust the elastic and frills on the leg the leaks, poop or otherwise, completely stop!! We use these as our back up diapers from cloth diapering for travel or when we're having a rough week and need things to be easy. After a year of using this brand and using sizes N-3, we are coming back to get the bigger sizes. Still 5 stars in my book! Will be back to get these again in the distant future when baby #2 comes around.

leaky poop
I purchased a 4 pack (160 count) of the newborn size EB diaper on the basis of good reviews by other customers, as I really wanted something chlorine and additive free for our 3week old son. We are cloth diapering too but wanted something more absorbent for night time in the beginning. However, like other reviewers, we have found the material to be flimsy - especially at the back of the diaper - and the fit to be dreadful - they barely cover his butt at the back and seem tight and irritating to his legs - we have had many a poop escape at the back (like others increasing our laundry significantly which without a washing machine in house is seriously inconvenient!) - I have three packs still unopened and have resorted to the pampers they sent us home from hospital with.. I note others have found the size one better (but our wee one is still only 8lbs) and I am hesitant to trial them in case of more expense and disappointment. And what to do with the remainder???
