The Madinan Way: The Soundness of the Basic Premises of the School of the People of Madina

The Madinan Way by Ibn Taymiyyah
Peace be to you Muslims. This book is amazing and well worth it. It discusses how the people of Madina during the Salaf generations were the most correct and towards the Sunnah than any other city including Makkah, Kufa, etc. This is vital in today's times when most Muslims tend to follow blindly the works of latter day STUDENTS of the four well-known pious Imams: Abu Hanifa, Ash-Shafi, Malik and Ahmad bin Hambal (May Allah Be Please With Them All), who have abandoned the main rule of the aforemetioned pious Imams. This rule they made clear, was to prioritise the Sunnah whether Sahih or Hasan or acceptable by the Muslim Scholars and reject any of their opinions which contradicted with the Sunnah. The reason for the main rule for Fiqh, as they stated, was that they were humans and had tendencies to change their opinion from one day to the next.It is worth noting as the books informs how Abu Hanifa's most prominent student, Abu Yusuf, followed his teacher's (Abu Hanifa) teaching by abandoning those opinions which contradicted the Sunnah and accepting the valid Madinan practices and opinions based on the Sunnah of The Prophet of God (May God Praise and Bless Him).
A**I
Ibn Taymiyyah on ahl-lul-madinah and ahl-ul-hadith
as-Salamu alaykum,This is a good book and the translator and publishers are to be thanked for the English Translation, even though they are followers of the dodgy "shaykh" Abdul-Qadir Dallas(aka Ian Dallas). The english title and sub-title is slightly deceptive, as it tries to suggest that Ibn Taymiyyah, the Hanbali, was saying that the Maliki School was sounder than others!!!So why did he remain on the whole, a Hanbali??The answer is that he was infact praising the Ahl-lul-Hadith over the ahl-ul-ra'i.Dr Abdul Hakim al-Matroudi, in his book "Ibn Taymiyyah and the Hanbali School" gives SIX reasons why this book is praising ahlul-hadith and ahl-lul-madinah (who were part of ahl-ul-hadith) and NOT the School of Imam Malik (may Allah be pleased with him).the book is available on Amazon so look it up.Finally, a correction on an outrageous slander made by the reviewer "igenix".he/she claimed"This is vital in today's times when most Muslims tend to follow blindly the works of latter day STUDENTS of the four well-known pious Imams: Abu Hanifa, Ash-Shafi, Malik and Ahmad bin Hambal (May Allah Be Please With Them All), who have abandoned the main rule of the aforemetioned pious Imams. This rule they made clear, was to prioritise the Sunnah whether Sahih or Hasan or acceptable by the Muslim Scholars and reject any of their opinions which contradicted with the Sunnah."Infact the mujtahid scholars who came after the four Imams tried to the best of thier ability to ADD,CLARIFY and CORRECT the Ijtihadaat of the scholars of the Salaf. It is the height of ignorance to claim that they "have abandoned the main rule of the aforemetioned pious Imams"It is only because on the whole the Muslim Ummah today will not accept to follow the "neo-salafis" of najd or weirdo "neo-sufi-wannabe Malikis" of Europe that we are attacked of "blindly" following the pious scholars of the khalaf.Which one of these neo-salafi's and neo-sufi's could do without these scholars of the khalaf:Imam Ibn Jawzi, Imam Ibn Qudamah, Imam Ibn Taymiyyah, Imam Ibn Qayyum al-Jawziyyah from the HanabilaorImam Ibn Abdul-Barr, Qadi Iyad, Qadi Abu Bakr al-Arabi, Imam Shatibi from the Malikiyyahor these great khalaf scholars of the shafi'iyyah;Qadi al-Qudat al-Mawardi, Imam Juwaini, Imam al-Ghazali, Imam Nawawi, Imam Ibn Hajr al-Asqalani, Imam Zakaraiyah al-Ansari, Imam Subki etc etc..and not to foget the great mujtahideen of the Hanafiyyah:Imam al-Kharki, Imam abu bakr al-Jassas, Imam as-Sarkhasi, Imam al-Bazdawi, Imam Marghinani, Imam Kamal ibn Hummam al-Hanafi etc etcThe TRUTH is that as long as we follow the Din of Allah with ikhlas on ANY of the FOUR schools or any tarjih ijtihadaat (ijtihad of preference based on dalil) within Sunni-Islam (i.e. ahl-ul- Sunnah was jama'ah) then insha-Allah, Allah will accept this of us.wallahu 'alam.
