Exceptional Greenhouse Kit, Impressively Engineered, Astonishingly Complete
Fantastic at every level Frequently, one received items drop-shipped from you-know-where that arrive with nebulous instructions clearly translated from another language to English by someone who speaks neither. This is not that product--the degree of precision and accuracy in the instructions and included drawings is at a level I haven't seen in two decades. Every single step (and there are a lot) is clearly detailed. If you can patiently follow instructions, you will build a robust and extremely well thought ought greenhouse. It includes roughly 50 pounds of hardware that includes rafter and ridge-beam hangers in addition to every nut, bolt, screw and fitting required to complete this. There are easily 1000 pilot holes drilled, and they missed maybe 2, but don't worry, because they also included a drill bit, a right angle driver adapter, and all the driver components to build it except the actual power tool. Each window and roof panel is clearly marked and comes with tape and plastic covers to prevent dirt and fog accumulation. There is metal roof trim that ends up being two layers thick to cover seams and edges. It even comes with a power block, fan, thermostat, and plumbing parts to connect to a hose. Several times I noticed what I thought might be weak points, leaks, or simply less sturdy sections during the build, but fear not, because the engineers already solved that problem and it's in the boxes. By the time I was done, there were a number of high-load areas that are laminated together and easily 4 or 5 inches thick. On the negative side, it comes in 10 boxes, many of them very heavy. Amazon, in my rural area, has little to choose from in the freight delivery service, and all of them are equally worthless. This one clearly just kicked these boxes off into a jumble which happened to block my gate and driveway completely (I would estimate over 1000 pounds total), so my diminutive wife and I, with the help of the tractor, patiently unscrewed this disaster (in the dark, in January) and brought everything up to the house. So, a mess and potentially a lot of broken pieces, but the Engineers (I have to capitalize them at this point) factored that in, too. Each box, with a minimum of foam (seriously, one 33 gallon trash bag held all of the styrofoam from 10 huge boxes) is packed so tightly as to almost completely mitigate damage, despite the best effort of the shipper. More on this in a minute. Build recommendations: 0. Pour a slab of concrete, 12 feet by 18 feet. This is not an absolute, but this is a really nice greenhouse, and probably worth the effort. I have seen it done and watched a couple you-tube videos, built the forms for about $50 after a fair amount (4-5 hours) of shoveling to get a level base, rented a bull-float for $50, and paid $600 for 3 yards of concrete (actually calculated out at 2.67 yds for 4 inches) and spent a day building up my brachioradialis muscles (use a bull-float and you will understand). It was my first slab and it came out pretty good, square and level with minimal surface markings. You could build it smaller, but I wanted the pergola on a porch as well. I found the engineering drawings on the website for Backyard Discovery to get the measurements and did this a couple weeks before the kit arrived so it was cured and ready. This was helped by a freakishly warm January here in Georgia. 1. Read the entire instruction manual--at least give it a good skim. 2. Inventory everything and organize by alpha / number. This can be done in one bay of a garage if you have a place to lean the big stuff like doors and window panels. Each box has a packing list, and I used this to mark damaged items (there were 4, astonishingly good). 3. Call the number on the box to get replacement parts. A human will answer and I had replacements in roughly 4 days. Unbelievable. 4. Inventory and organize by number the bolts, nuts, t-nuts, screws, washers and etc. You will need about a square yard of bench space to do this, but you will be glad you did. Seriously, this is a lot of hardware. 5. Follow the directions, carefully. Read each step before you do it, gather your parts and hardware, and assemble. There are a few places you can skip forward or back (for example, after installing the gables with the center window in place to ensure proper angles, I put the roof halves on to keep the gables from having too much sail-effect, and was then easily able to finish putting the windows and trim into the gables with the ridge beam bolted in for stability), but for the most part, I would recommend going straight from start to finish. It gives excellent instructions on squaring everything, and this helps smooth out the build process immensely. 6. Be patient, take your time, it will be worth it. Don't be alarmed if something looks incomplete, the Engineers were all over it, just wait. 7. Bolt the whole thing to the concrete slab with the included concrete anchors. Easily worth the cost--there is probably $1000 worth of hardware if you sourced this at Home Depot or similar. The windows are 4 wall plastic and very thick. We are getting daytime temperatures in February (below freezing ambient) or 80-90F during sunny days, and it stays over 40 all night with no additional heat. A small heater would surely emulate the tropics. Build time, conservatively, two weeks of mostly 4 hour days (a couple 6-7 hour efforts). I built almost the entire thing myself, with my wife helping to erect the walls, square, and put the roof halves on, and to stand on a ladder to hold the cap down while I screwed it on from inside (again, amazing engineering). You could do it in a week if you were committed. Probably the best product I have ordered from Amazon in a year (even better than the Penguin with a knife shirt that says flight was never an option). Order this without reservation--great value, excellent product, and superb customer support. Who this isn't for: someone who doesn't follow directions well. Otherwise, I don't think you could build something anywhere close to this for less money. It comes with everything you need to start growing except dirt, pots and seeds. Infinite stars.

Absolutely Stunning and Solid!
I am in love!!!! I spent a lot of time looking into greenhouses and at times it was overwhelming. So many less expensive options but even from the pictures they just didn't look that sturdy. I live in Colorado where we experience lots of severe weather from winds and hail to sheeting rain and blizzards. I needed something that could weather the storm. When the 8 boxes arrived I spent 3 hours sorting the wood and hardware into alphabetical/numerical order. It was worth it! It took about 4 days to build this beauty and since then I have spent countless (I keep forgetting I can't live in there) hours happily sequestered inside. The quality is much better than I'd hoped and it is a beautifully stunning showpiece as well! Afterward I contacted the company because the hose adapter was cracked and they sent me a replacement immediately. I also ordered gutters for it from them and they really finished off the design! Very, very happy! Side note: because the wood is so soft the screws strip really really easily so that is a pain. But we would just add extra ones and she is holding up amazingly well! Buy a magnetic screen for the door and windows and you'll be even happier!

Highly recommend the Backyard Discovery Bellerose Greenhouse!!
We purchased the 11x7 Bellerose Traditional Greenhouse and couldn’t be happier with it! Super sturdy and solid with a great finish right out of the box. My husband put it together himself (with minimal help from me) using the easy to follow instructions. Although there are a lot of pieces, he really liked that everything came ready-to-assemble with the pre-drilled holes lining up perfectly. The quality of all of the wood pieces was excellent - no warps or cracks. Fasteners were clearly labeled and sent with plenty of extras. We love so many features in this greenhouse but are really impressed with the quality and amount of space in it. The foldable shelves are perfect and can’t wait to use all the upper shelves too. The two windows will be great for ventilation and really like that it has a fan and a hose hook-up. We’ve received so many compliments already on how beautiful the greenhouse looks in our yard. The pergola is the perfect additional to it! It also came with plant hooks, and we can’t wait to hang more plants and start growing in our Greenhouse! So glad we purchased this from Backyard Discovery - highly recommend to anyone looking to buy a greenhouse!

Great Product, Terrible Delivery
My wife and I love everything about this greenhouse. It took a while to put together, but the instructions are clear and thorough, making the process easy enough. Most of the wood was in great condition, with a few boards coming to us extremely warped. That was really the only challenge with assembly. Now, why did I deduct one star? Delivery. I was given a delivery date, but they showed up several days early. I watched from the house as two guys struggled in the back of their truck. Then, one of them called me and asked, "Do you have a forklift?" Me: "A forklift? No, I don't have a forklift." A few minutes later, my doorbell rang and I went outside. He said, "I need you out here, Boss. It's heavy." I was in the middle of grilling hamburgers, but I went out to the street, barefoot and all. I suggested taking some boxes off of the pallet after one guy broke his dolly and fell backwards, trying to hoist the pallet onto the lift at the back of the truck. Finally, boxes were removed and it was lowered to the street. They struggled to move anything. So, I went and got my dolly and proceeded to move the boxes myself. I moved 8 out of 10 boxes by myself--no shoes on, in the Louisiana heat, while these two guys who do this for a living just complained the whole time about how heavy the boxes were. Keep in mind that I am 6'5" and used to compete in strongman. I don't know what they would do if they delivered to anyone else.

Don't be afraid to accept damaged boxes!
Delivery started out a bit bumpy, but Back Yard Discovery ships out any damaged pieces very quickly. FIRST, you have to be sure you have the piece registered on the website or they will not be able to find your purchase or parts numbers or work with you though, so be sure to do this right away. Registering the product through the Bilt App doesn't carry over to them like it says it will when you use the App for building all their products, even though the app is extremely helpful and I consider a must have for building their products. You do need to be aware that there are places where the App and the written directions differ slightly, so just keep that in mind as you go, and it becomes apparent early on. I chose to stain/treat every board prior to the build (God help anyone else that does this alone!) But one thing i did learn and will need to rectify come spring, is that you do have to treat the ENTIRE board, ends included, not just the 4 sides like I thought (im obviously not a builder). Some pieces do have the ends that are not hidden and are left facing out and are visible, so I will just do a spring touch up when it's not snowing. Once that was done, we put everything together in numbered sequence, boards together and then hardware sorted and in numbered order set up on tables. Then it's off and running! It goes pretty fast once you get set up and start building. This is our 4th BYD project together and we are still alive and still together! No casualties! Gazebo, swing, potting bench, now the greenhouse so my husband has now officially said NO MORE lol The Greenhouse is beautiful and I researched for months before buying and feel like I got the most bang for my buck with this model. The most features, highest quality, and one of the best looking for sure. Highly recommend it!

Just as advertised!
Love this greenhouse. It is a great size for our needs. It is quite sturdy. We have had several high winds with no problem. The operable windows and vents along with the exhaust fan and thermostat make it easy to control the temperature. There were no missing parts but one panel was damaged. The manufacturer send a replacement right away but it took a few weeks to get here. This is where planning makes all the difference. I took everything out of the boxes and compared with the parts list. All parts were there but this is where I found the damaged piece. I then organized the parts in reverse order so that the things I needed first were readily available. Most of the assembly could be done by one person. Needed 3 people to stand up the walls; 2 to hold and 1 to fasten. It took 4 people to put the roof rafters up. A few suggestions that I either found helpful or learned the hard way. Some boards required "tnuts" to be installed after the board was standing in a wall. I found that it was much easier to put these in place on the ground rather than hammering on a wall that was standing and somewhat moveable. I little planning goes a long way. I also found that it was easier to set up a small assembly station for preparing the windows all at once rather than doing one wall at a time. I did the same thing with the roof panels.

We love our greenhouse
This was a huge undertaking but we love the results. We needed a place to do potting, a place to store garden equipment, and a place to hang out during late winter / early spring. It took three of us to get the roof on and two of us to build it. The roof was the hardest where we had to assemble / disassemble / assemble until we got the corners square but the rest was straightforward. We changed the location of the sink, but the rest is as described in the 108 steps for assembly. We put the greenhouse on crushed gravel. That seems to work fine.

I love my Bellerose!
Very happy with this greenhouse! I had someone build it for me but the only complaint they had was that there were so many pieces. LOL. They followed instructions and all went together nicely. One small shelf board was missing and Bkyd Discovery sent it out the day that I requested it. Their customer service is awesome.

Fantastic, durable product with easy, straightforward assembly instructions, and has the greatest smell inside that lasts—six month post-build and still amazing!

Love this compact greenhouse.
This is a lovely greenhouse that adds beauty to our property. It was a challenge to assemble with hundreds of screws and bolts. But the finished product is really nice. We were missing one part, but their customer service had it sent within a couple of days. Great, friendly service.
