Works great

I have purchased many guages over the past few years thinking they were faulty. The guages were likely not the issue but the white gaskets. Recently, when I called Presto complaining that another guage didn't work, I was told to go the local Extension Office to have it tested. My response was that when it sounds like it is going to explode and the guage shows low pressure, I assume it does not work. This is when I learned that the issue is the white gasket. They now have a black gasket for only a few dollars. When you see the design, you will understand why the white gasket was not a good design. Amazon does not offer the new black gasket but if you go to goPresto, it is part #81751.

No Instructions on setting PSI scale. The pressure gauge was sitting at 5psi. I had to open the gauge up to adjust it to 0 psi. A couple of tools small flat tip screw driver and a small Philips for the 2 screws in the back, adjust the gear to your setting, Took me 5 minutes. Just be careful.

I had it certified and only showed 1lb low at 15lb of preassure.

Parts started to rust and leave stains on top of the canning lids, they are not stainless steel or brass, other than that the gauge works but I will spend the extra money next time to buy a better quality gauge. I am not totally putting it down, as it does work but a better quality nut would be nice

The gauge worked very well as it should. The white casket that comes with them was to large for my canning lid. I overcame this by using the old casket from the gauge that I dropped. Was supposed to be compatible with my canner.
