Imou 2K Solar Security Camera Outdoor Wireless, Solar CCTV Camera with Long Battery Life, 360°Surveillance, 20M Color Night Vision, Human/Motion Detection, 2-Way Audio Siren Spotlight

Brilliant piece of kit. Have lots of imou cameras now. Easy to set up, easy to use, connects well and a great peace of mind to keep an eye on things. For me it's dogs and cats

Great camera, easy to install. Solar panel is discreet and also easy to install with the long wire it comes with. Picture quality is great. Never runs out of power as long as you set the detection right. Light comes on at night if person is detected too. Software seems really reliable. Highly recommend.

Price at review: £74.99 On the face of it this is a really good camera, it has good quality images, the night vision and range is great. It has a cute little face and it pans and tilts inquisitively and has a wide range of movement. It is absolutely packed full of features and especially useful is the human detection which is so much better than pure motion detection because it only kicks off when someone is actually near your property. It also has a cool follow mode where it turns to follow whoever is in the frame to let them fully know they are being recorded. Optionally it also can turn on its glowing headlight eyes and make an alarm sound if you want. The solar is awesome and the cable is long enough that I could mount the camera on one side of the house and the panel on the south facing wall. So far the battery is staying up in the 90% range. So why am I not giving this 5 stars? The first thing I don't like is that it sends everything over the internet via the manufacturers servers and it doesn't use encryption while it is doing this either. Even when you are on the same WiFi network as your camera it sends everything out of your broadband router to the server and then back again so you can see it. Most of the advanced features require a subscription. I would prefer to be able to use it without logging in or having to have a subscription and just use it on my WiFi directly. If the manufacturer goes out of business it will likely become completely useless overnight. The second problem is that even with the motion detection turned off and the human detection turned on, it still reacts to movement and pans and tilts to look at it. This means when it is, for example, raining or leaves are moving in the wind then it is constantly moving trying to see something. I would prefer to be able to have it locked in one position until it sees a human and only then follow them with the panning. This also would save a lot of wasted battery. Plus while mine is looking at the trees waving in the wind it could miss the person down below... I have another camera from another manufacturer which works exactly like this and that makes so much more sense to me.

Very easy to install! Good quality recordings! Very pleased with the product!

It's a very effective camera with several good features. However the solar panel to charge it is next to useless and the battery is depleted far too often. I've had to get the ladder out to use a power block to charge it on many occasions. It's on a south facing wall. I don't recommend it on this basis.

The Imou 2K CCTV camera is a solid choice for anyone looking to monitor larger spaces like gardens, thanks to its smart features and thoughtful design. Key Features: Auto-Tracking Functionality: This camera's auto-tracking feature ensures it follows movement within its field of view. This is especially beneficial for covering blind spots where static cameras would fall short, making it a great option for dynamic outdoor surveillance. Solar-Powered Longevity: Equipped with a solar panel, the camera’s internal battery is continuously topped up with sunlight. The internal battery alone lasts for weeks without charging, and as long as there is direct sunlight every few weeks, it remains functional indefinitely. While winter months with limited sunlight might test this setup, the option to use a power bank for recharging ensures uninterrupted performance. Clear 2K Video Quality: The 2K resolution delivers clear footage with impressive detail, even when zooming in. This level of clarity is excellent for identifying finer details like faces or objects. Ease of Use: Phone App Integration: The phone app offers all the basic CCTV functionalities but could be more user-friendly. While many AI and advanced features require a subscription, key functions like motion detection and local storage using a 32GB micro SD card work perfectly without additional costs. Additionally, you can view footage remotely via the app, even while on cellular data. Performance Highlights: Motion Detection: Works seamlessly without requiring a subscription, ensuring that basic security features remain accessible. Local Storage Option: Avoid subscription fees by storing files locally on an SD card, a practical and budget-friendly solution for most users. Winter Preparedness: While the solar panel works well during sunny periods, its true test will come in the low-light winter months. Having the option to charge via a power bank offers peace of mind. Conclusion: The Imou 2K CCTV camera is a versatile and reliable surveillance solution, particularly suited for outdoor areas where static cameras may leave blind spots. With auto-tracking, solar power support, and impressive video quality, it offers great value. While the app could use some improvement, the availability of core features without a subscription and the flexibility to store footage locally make it a smart choice for home security. Highly recommended for users seeking efficient outdoor monitoring with minimal upkeep!

The quality is actually really good. **Battery Life and Solar Panel:** The solar panels work efficiently, keeping the cameras powered without needing frequent recharges. I just wish I could connect these cameras to my Hik-Connect system, which would integrate them with my existing security setup. I will update this review further once I install the second camera. **App and Connectivity:** The app is user-friendly and provides real-time alerts. Live streaming is seamless with minimal lag. Imou 2K Solar Security Camera (B0D3DHJQ3V) Great camera, works well, easy to set up. This is a great system, so easy to install and set up. After positioning the camera and solar panel, I loaded the Imou Life app on my Samsung S24 smartphone and created a free account. This then allowed me to add the device and log it onto my local network. All worked very smoothly without any problems. From the app I was able to immediately see the video output and choose quality settings, etc. I am happy with the picture quality and the movement detection, I got a few notifications to my mobile as I was moving around testing so I'm happy that it is detecting ok. Some birds have been flying by and not set off the detection so that part is working fine too. I've only just started using this camera but already I am impressed and all this with a free account. If I want the extras the paid account brings, I can investigate later. I have a 64GB microSD card installed and set up for time lapse at sunrise so I am looking forward to seeing that. The app shows a good device power level at present and I'll be checking that each day to see if the solar panel will be sufficient on its own over autumn and winter. I am very happy with this solar security camera so far.
