These strips are a quick and easy way to check your Ketones when you start the Ketogenic diet, or any low carb diet. They're super easy to use, and results are pretty easy to understand. If you've ever checked the pH levels in a pool, this is the exact same sort of deal. Darker the strip the more ketones (better).I won't go into too much Keto detail, there's plenty elsewhere. Just be aware that you may not show ketones in your urine for a few days up to a week after starting Keto and that your levels may vary on activity. I.E. if you test when your body is flushing water (after drinking alcohol) it may read lower, or if you just fasted or used exogeneous ketone supplements may read higher. After your body is fully in ketosis (couple weeks or more) your urine may have less ketones than your blood (actual levels) because your body is using them.This particular product is also a great buy in terms of price. Blood monitors will run you about $60 for a test kit with equipment for 10 tests, and more strips will run you $1 a test AT A MINIMUM. Another alternative is a special breathalyzer which is also going to cost you and not provide much more accurate readings.Simply put, this is the BEST product on the market for the money, hands down.

Based off of all negative reviews, I’ve come to the conclusion that it is user error. As long as you READ the directions and perhaps utilize YouTube for a visual, you will understand how this product works. I did have an issue trying to figure out how to open the lancet device. All you have to do is put it all the way to zero and twist it off. It reads just fine and just be patient when you slide in the ketone strip. It will read and check to make sure the blood strip is not defective. Don’t just put your blood in it right away and slide it in. Again, a lot of the reviews is just user error.Two things I don’t like about this product:1. Pricking my finger2. How over priced it isOther than that, it’s whatever. We’ll see how this keto diet goes and I will be back to update my disappointment.

I have never confirmed the result indicated by these strips via a blood sample but based on my my eating journal they appear correct. However, the directions indicate they will give results within 15 seconds of exposure to urine but my experience shows it is more like 5 minutes or longer... But still very workable.

After reading all of the reviews, I noticed a pattern. The poor reviews were mostly based on mis-use of the product. So I decided to purchase. I am absolutely satisfied with these test strips. They are easy to use and highly accurate. Make sure to always close the lid tightly to insure that the strips do not oxidize and turn gray. The strip did in fact change color within 15 seconds. They do continue to darken up to a minute, so I consider the test to be valid after the prescribed time of 15 seconds.My only slight issue is that the color of the strip may not exactly match the chart. For me it is easy to see where it fits on the chart, though. I will be purchasing these again.

I received the product yesterday.First let me say I was really looking forward to using this device. I even already ordered 30 more Ketone Blood Test Strips so I would not run out.Set up was real easy, I recommend watching the video on the Kiss my Keto sight, it was very helpful. I had watched the video before ordering so I was already to do it.Packaging was a little odd. The box was not sealed with the unit and strips in it, so I was real surprised the test strip tube was not sealed. I thought maybe it was a returned unit.The first test strip i put in said it was used, I got nervous and put a new one in. I got a reading of 0.6 which I knew was low since my labs just said +1. I waited two hours and tested again and got another error code of used strip, put a new one in and got a reading of 0.4. I was really concerned now and checking everything I was eating. But I have been losing 4 pounds per week for the past two months so how can this be?Got up this morning, scale said I was down another 1/2 pound from yesterday. Went to test my blood and again I got an error code of used test strip, put in another and got a reading of 0.4 and a low battery signal I did not notice lastnight.All told I have gone through 6 test strips in less than 24 hours. Not feeling confident in the accuracy of the unit and the test strips seem to be faulty.Like I said I was really looking forward to using this device, I have been doing Keto off and on for two years now and doing great on it, but I wanted something that I could actually see what my numbers were so I could adjust by adding or subtracting foods from my "can eat" list. I also wanted to show my friends how by knowing your numbers will encourage a person to keep going and take charge of what they eat by knowing how their particular body responds to what types of food.I hate to say don't purchase this item, what if it was just a fluke that mine is a lemon, or was it exposed to moisture in transit to my home. Or maybe it was a returne or refurbished unit.I will reach out to the company on Monday and see what they suggest I do. I will update my review at that time.

It is hard to determine the proper readings. The test strips do not correspond to the color panel.Interpretation is difficult.
