Yes. I have them setup on my desktop computer for gaming, but I also stream from my phone to them when I am working on my work computer. They should do the job well.

what are the dimensions of the sub?

12" wide by 10.5" high by 13" deep. Take in to account any cabling at the rear that will add roughly 2" to the depth.

Do you need an amp to run these or are they active?

I'm no expert, but I believe that they are active. I think their amp is in the sub-woofer box. I run them from my PC. I'm quite pleased with them so far, but only installed them a few months ago. Chris

there is no way to connect additional speakers - the connection is by a weird plug type cable for both speakers to the sub. Nothing would stop you connecting a 2nd set of speakers to the rear speaker output on your motherboard if you have them though, or to an AV amp if you are using one but not directly to these speakers. They do space sopund pretty nicely as they are though
