I was looking for ceramic spoons with a flat bottom, and a handle of decent length. Many ceramic spoons feel a bit short to me, but these are perfect. These match the shape of the melamine spoons common at many Asian restaurants but are instead made of ceramic/porcelain - of course these are heavier. The big bowl is great for certain soup types and can also be useful for various appetizers. Being microwave and oven safe (450 F) is an added convenience. A bit more expensive than most other ceramic soup spoons, but the design and quality make the added cost worth it. I might have to pick up another 6-pack.

These are exactly what I wanted, and I was so relieved that they didn't turn out to be plastic! They were carefully wrapped, so they wouldn't break in shipment, they stand up, as advertised, and I'm happy with the price.

These are very nice dumpling spoons. As previous reviewers have pointed out, they are too large to enter the mouth like soup spoons. Anyway, I'm happy with my purchase. Amazon, thanks for the quick shipment.

I like these spoons because they are larger, have a flat bottom, and they stand up on their own. They were packed very well and they are perfect! I got these spoons for serving canapes. So many beautiful ideas online!

These are great for soup .. a little large though .. I’d probably go a size down of if I was getting again .. but these would work well for appetizer vessel

These were the closest to what I have been looking for. Just for a little note of interest, these types of Asian spoons are originally to be used only with soup noodles or dumplings. They should be large bowled and deep enough to hold a dumpling and broth for your soup where a traditional soup spoon is small. You used the bowl to hold the noodles from splashing while you eat it and broth to cool and sip afterwards. Same goes for dumplings. Having said that, many "Asian" spoons have gotten shallow and smaller over the years and people seem to think they are to be used in place of traditional table spoons. I have been shopping for noodle spoons that are long enough where they don't fall into a bowl, which tends to be larger when serving noodles/dumplings. The curved handle is nice as it gives slight holding power at the edge of the bowl. the bowl is wide enough and deep enough to hold soup, noodles/dumplings as mentioned above. It's flat bottomed, further helping with not slipping into the bowl. The flat bottom is also terrific for one bite amuse bouche appetizers as they stand alone on a tray. The porcelain is easy to clean. I've run them a few times in the dishwasher and so far they are fine but only time will tell their longevity factor. I gave it 4 stars only because it IS a little wide for me to put the whole spoon in my mouth. 1/4 of an inch thinner would have made it perfect. This is solely personal to me. My husband had no trouble putting the whole bowl in his mouth. Then again, you probably shouldn't do that with company anyway. It would have also been great to have color options other than white, or stainless steel, exactly the same shape and size. However, I am very happy with my purchase.
