not good for ponds with fish
If I could give this product zero stars, I would. I purchased the Aquatic Soil for my aquarium plants, and it turned into one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had in the hobby. After adding it to my tank, my water parameters went out of balance almost immediately. The nitrites and nitrates spiked to dangerously high levels, which I strongly believe was caused by this substrate. Despite regular testing and water changes, the situation did not improve, and sadly, I lost fish that had been healthy before I introduced this soil. Aquarium soil should support a healthy, stable environment, but in my case it did the opposite. I know some products need a cycling period, but this went well beyond what could be corrected in a reasonable timeframe. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this soil to anyone who values the health and safety of their fish.

Soil for aquatic plants
I was pleased to find this soil option, as I wanted to grow some lotus flowers! I purchased many manages of seeds, and was able to plant several which had sprouted! This made me very happy! But then the seedlings began to mold. They didn’t survive! Not sure what went wrong! It seems like very good soil; I have to think the problem was with the seeds.

works well
Works pretty well for my lotus. Mix it up properly, let it sit for a while and then plant your lotus or water lily. The only disappointment was how little of soil there was, I thought 2.2 lbs would be much more.

I DID LOTUS
It's really awesome stuff, place some clay mud into a bowl, add slowly water to make thick mud,add sand over the mud to hold the mud in place now add your already sprouted seeds put them in through the sand into the mud, add water as slowly as you can and fill, if it's gentle it will be pretty clear. Yay now you did it :) (Be careful with the clay mud there was a huge fish stabbing bone in there so might want to wear gloves.)

Just what I needed
This aquatic dirt is exactly what my Lotus plants needed. Unlike regular potting soil, it stays at the bottom and doesn't cloud the water or float away. Texture: Nice and heavy; perfect for anchoring delicate tubers. Performance: It creates a solid foundation that mimics a natural pond bottom. Result: It’s already settled in and seems to be working perfectly. Highly recommend this for anyone planting water lilies or lotus who wants a mess-free experience!

Not a good value
I didn’t care for this. Too complex to use as it must be soaked prior to us. Expensive for the amount or volume of product. It is just dirt.
