I’m glad I bought these as my back-up.
I ended up quite proficient when in Asia without using these (I packed them). I think it was a case of when needs must. But when I did test these out after buying them, they made gripping the food so much more easier. Also, I spoke with Korean, Malaysian and Japanese nationals about using knife / fork if needed if the chop sticks are not working out and all three of them told me that no one will be upset of offended in any way - in fact, two of them told me (separately) that if chop sticks are not part of your culture, then there’s zero judgment or offence. That reassured me enormously. And while I occasionally struggled, I did manage to use chop sticks for around 80 % of my eating and a spoon or fork for the rest.

Good - but don’t fit all chopsticks
Helps to eat if you can’t use chopsticks (vital to eat after all), but you will get laughed at by users who are proficient in chopstick usage… I recommend just learning to use chopsticks (4 stars is due to the not fitting all chopsticks, it’s around a 75% chance they will work in my experience on a 10 day holiday).

Chopstick Mastery Unlocked—Even with My Clumsy Hands!
I’ve always wanted to be a chopstick pro, but thanks to my less-than-cooperative hand mobility, I usually end up launching food across the table like a malfunctioning catapult. Enter these beauties—suddenly, I’m living my chopstick dreams without the risk of turning dinner into a contact sport. They’re also good for kids who are learning to use chopsticks without turning the table into a disaster zone. The quality is surprisingly solid for something so simple, and the value for money is unbeatable—especially when you consider the amount of rice I’m not picking off the floor now.At home, I’m a sushi-snagging legend. In a restaurant? Sure, you’ll probably get a few odd looks, but who cares? I’m too busy living my best life, nailing every bite like a seasoned pro.

Too hard - do not work
5 pieces supplied and only 1 is of any use. The other 4 are made of harder plastic which simply spits out the chop sticks when you try to use them - the plastic is rock solid with no give.
