RGB 3.5-Inch Hard Drive Enclosure, USB 3.0 External Hard Drive Enclosure for 2.5''/3.5'' SATA HDD and SSD, with Expansion Ports and 12V/2A Power Adapter, Supports Up to 20TB, FE3003

I've purchased two of these hard drive enclosures to breathe new life onto my old hard drives and I think this is one of the best enclosures out there. Here are some of my thoughts: Pros: -Quality. The enclosure is made of metal, with plastic ends. Because of how warm 3.5" hard drives could get, I feared that purchasing a plastic enclosure would not withstand the heat of the drive. I'm glad to say that this enclosure does the job well, while also having a solid build quality. The metal sort of acts as a heatsink, so it will get warm to the touch during operation. Nothing about the enclosure feels cheap or flimsy. -Simplicity. It was very simple to get my old hard drives up and running. The product comes with everything you need to get started, even a screwdriver! It's as simple as plugging in the hard drive into the SATA connector, screwing it to the frame, sliding it back into the enclosure, and tightening the whole thing up. -Price. For a few dollars more than plastic enclosures, I thought $25 for a metal one is a reasonable price, especially considering the benefits of a more durable metal enclosure. -Compatibility. So far, this has worked in a multitude of my PCs without a hitch. Cons: -Power brick. This is a bit of a nitpick on my end, but to me, the included power supply is a bit large. I would have liked a smaller power supply, but I cannot complain. Overall, this is an excellent hard drive enclosure that could help you make old hard drives useful again. One more note, if you install a new hard drive into the enclosure, be sure to open "Disk Management" in Windows or "Disk Utility" in macOS and ensure that the drive is initialized and formatted before use. Otherwise, the drive will not function. I hope my review has helped you out!

This is a nice external SATA drive enclosure for 3.5" drives. It uses a USB type B connection (cable included. The main body of the enclosure is aluminum. The end caps are plastic but they don't feel or look cheap. I put a 10TB HGST SATA drive in it and it works perfectly without any issues. The speed is on par with my other external drives. I like the indicator lights on the back of the side. Even though that's definitely not common it actually works for me. It recognized a pre-formatted drive I switched from another enclosure with no issues. No need to reformat. The enclosure comes with extra screws (both for the drive and the end caps) as well as replacement rubber feet, which I think is a nice and considerate addition. Overall I feel this enclosure is well made and definitely a good value for the money.

Great hard drive enclosure. The fact that it's metal already makes it a better option than the more common plastic ones. The drive fits securely in the enclosure after inserting it and screwing the necessary screws (which are provided, as are a screwdriver). This also uses the ASM225CM chip which is the newer version of the ASM1153E chip. I've had zero issues running my drive in this. Overall, great value for a metal hard drive enclosure. Inatek did a great job with this product.

I recently purchased a hard drive enclosure to replace an old one I had. The main reason for the upgrade was the on/off switch, which is a toggle switch on this model. This is important because my old enclosure had a toggle switch, but when the power would go out and then come back on, the hard drive would stay in the off state. This caused my home security system, which uses the hard drive as a backup, to run out of space and crash the computer. With the toggle switch on this model, the hard drive will come back on when the power is restored. The only thing I wish the enclosure came with was a mount holder, as my old enclosure had one and it came in handy. Unfortunately, this enclosure did not come with a mount holder, which is a bit disappointing. The enclosure itself is made of thin metal and feels a bit flimsy, but it's cheap and it gets the job done. I was able to use my new Bosch go drill to easily install the hard drive in the enclosure, which made the process much smoother. Overall, I'm satisfied with the product and would recommend it to others, but I wish it came with a mount holder.

Pas de chichi à part un bandeau led autour du boitier, pour le reste, c'est mené à l'essentiel. On ouvre le boitier, on branche son disque en Sata, on branche le boitier, on relit en USB le boitier à un PC, et c'est parti. On note au passage la bonne idée de faire un câble USB qui ira à la fois dans les ports type A et les ports type C, très bien dans une période où les premiers commencent à disparaître au profit des deuxièmes. Pour le reste, tout fonctionne. Dans mon cas je voulais vérifier si j'avais un disque HS ou si c'était mon PC qui n'arrivait plus à le lire...Et il est bien HS !

Ottimo case per HD... Io personalmente l'ho comprato per poter riutilizzare dei vecchi HD e sono rimasto sorpreso dalla sua efficacia. Plug & Play immediato ed esteticamente con i suoi colori RGB fa la sua figura.

This was used to house a 2tb HDD i removed from a redundant appliance. The enclosure is well made and it was simple to install the HDD. It features an on/off power switch and comes with a UK power adapter and a substantial usb cable. When the encloure arrives, after removing the packaging you will find that the end of the enclosure with the power switch etc is not screwed in. It can be removed by sliding it out and the HDD just plugs into the appropriate connector. There are also a couple of screws to secure to HDD on to the enclosure end. The screw holes are located in the sides and it holds everything snug. Also enclosed are some rubber pads the same as the rubber feet, I used these to stick on the HDD to stop it rattling about inside the enclosure. The HDD and the end can be slid into the enclosure and the two screws (as supplied) fitted into the holes located at each side of the end. When the power is swwitch on there is a Green light located on the end corner and when the Hdrive is activated a Blue light comes on and this is situated just above the Green one. The whole enclosure is well made and everythng fits easily and well, it has a quality feel and is substantial. I am very satisfied with this product which is in regular use a a spare Backup to a Flight Sim PC.

Easy to install, came with all the screws, screwdriver and a few spares screws and feet. New driver recognised, instiallised them formatted. I wasnt using the supplied USB cable and the drive seemed a bit slow, but then I thought it probably needed to be disconnected and reconnected after formatting etc. I then used the supplied USB cable and now the speed is fast as expected, reaches around 163MB second depending on the file size. Copying a HDD to a HDD. Looks good too. I like the mechanicle power switch, I feel this is reliable.

Ho preso questo case SATA per dischi da 3,5 pollici in quanto avevo un disco recuperato da un nas che si era guastato, e così ho potuto recuperarlo ed usarlo come disco esterno. Il box è molto ben realizzato, con plastiche di buona fattura e finitura. Si apre senza viti e anche il disco all'interno si poggia semplicemente ma non si blocca con viti o ganci. Il case è passivo: non ha ventole, anche se il disegno dei fori sul fondo faceva pensare ad una ventola interna. Tutto sommato comunque il mio disco non scalda molto anche rimanendo chiuso in questo box. Il box è completo di cavoUSB che ha anche l'adattatore per passare da USB classica a USB-. C'è ovviamente anche il trasformatore con presa italiana che serve per alimentare il disco da 3,5 pollici. Mi piace molto l'effetto dei led che cambiano colore sfumando da un all'altro in maniera continua. Cosa molto utile è l'HUB USB integrato: sul retro ci sono infatti due ulteriori porte USB tradizionali ed una USB-C per collegare ulteriori periferiche. Utilissimo come nel mio caso: collegandolo al portatile andavo a perdere una delle tre usb. Con questo disco connesso si hanno invece più porte disponibili epr le varie periferiche :) La velocità di trasferimento dipende anche dal disco sata montato, ma mi sembra davvero molto veloce. Caratteristica notevole è quella di poter montare anche dischi di grandi dimensioni. Con windows 10 e 11 funziona semplicemente collegandolo, senza drivers. Prodotto promosso a pieni voti!
