A Must Have for Reading Teachers!!
This is the best book on teaching reading that I have read. It is not only for beginning readers; it has resources for all elementary grades. It is a great addition to her 7 Mighty Moves book. It includes lots of ready to use templates that can be used in whole group, small group, or 1-on-1 sessions. There are lots of word lists for fluency, word chaining, and phonemic awareness. There are goal trackers too that are fun and game based. I definitely recommend purchasing this book! It is a great buy.

Highly, highly recommend.
A fabulous companion to 7 Mighty Moves, filled with reproducable resources for each move. Each chapter/move begins with a brief review of key points covered in 7 MightyMoves followed by reproducables and other resources to support practice of the move.I use 7 Mighty Moves as a textbook for a graduate literacy course, for students with no background in education, and plan to use this in class to support them in solidifying and internalizing research-based best practices.I totally disagree with previous reviews complaining about the quality of print as my book was purchased new and is in pristine condition.

Structured Literacy tool
Definitely recommend the 7 Mighty Moves book. This one is the supplemental book to the white one. Follows structured literacy, fabulous resources you can apply immediately to your classroom or homeschooling environment.

A much-needed practical resource.
As a first grade teacher myself, I love this new book which gives practical ways to implement the 7 moves needed for primary teachers to shift thinking and practice from balanced literacy to being based in the research of how students actually learn to read and write. There are so many items for each of the 7 moves that can be implemented immediately in a classroom. Lists of words by phonics skills, planning templates items that could be used in small groups or literacy centers, to name a few of the gems in this book! I highly recommend this book to anyone working with children on foundational reading and writing skills as well as comprehension and vocabulary.

A new favorite!
I was excited for the release of this book. It is a perfect companion book to The 7 Mighty Moves. This book is user friendly and gave me so many immediate, easy to implement ideas for bringing the science of reading to life in my literacy block. I love the fact that Lindsay is in the classroom and her suggestions/resources are classroom tested with her own students! Thank you for the work you put into this book, Lindsay. It is going to be one of my favorites!

Great text, horrible print quality
The book is invaluable to teachers! Highly recommend the content. That said, the print quality of the book is horrible! Areas not clear, gray tones are crap, creases in paper. Scholastic should be ashamed of the print quality!

Great practical resource for teachers!
So excited to receive my resource book after being on the pre-order list. Being a state literacy specialist, I’m always looking for books and materials to make the life of the teachers easier but still following the best researched-based strategies. I’ve been to several of Lindsay’s trainings and I love her teacher friendly way of presenting and now to provide them with an easy to use book of all of the resources she speaks of is a game changer. I give it an A+!!

An Absolute Must Buy!
This is hands down the best book on teaching reading I have ever read. It is an absolutely necessary addition to her 7 Mighty Moves book. It gives explicit quick and easy directions along with premade templates you can use in both whole group and small group immediately. She includes sample lesson plan templates as well as tons of sample words lists, organizers, word cards, goal trackers etc. This is definitely a must buy book!
