Best compact microwave on the market!
I needed a microwave with very specific dimensions as I was putting it into one of my cabinets. It couldn’t surpass 13 inches deep and it had to have a silent mode and it had to shut very quietly so my neighbors couldn’t hear it. It turns out that most compact microwaves aren’t made that well I first bought Commercial Chef. I thought it was really cute, but it felt a little cheap and it didn’t have a silent mode. Closing it was very loud too. That silent mode was very important to me. I then bought Comfee. I loved how it looked, and I loved how it closed very very quiet quietly. It didn’t have a silent mode and the biggest problem was that it got so wet inside. Literally microwaving anything would make it soaking wet inside. It also had a weird child lock that you couldn’t deactivate. GE was about $40 more than the other ones, but I was already exhausted from having to return to and decided to try one more time. I had GE before but not for a compact microwave. It ended up being perfect. Not only did it fit perfectly, but it was silent, and it had a child lock that you could deactivate. It doesn’t close quietly unless you learn to close it quietly. I figured out a way to push the button and close it where it’s practically silent when you close it. The best part was that it’s very dry inside. It has an internal fan and it’s just so much better Made than the other ones. I would 100% recommend this microwave if you need a compact microwave. I think it’s worth the extra money and it’ll last a lot longer

Microwave Oven Exactly As Described. Very user-friendly
Arrived quick, just set it on a counter , plug in. Don't forget to remove the chikd-proof lock. there were easy directions taped on the outsode of the box. Once set up, it is easy to use. six pre-set buttons for popcorn, pizza and other things. easy-peasy. I do notice microwace ovens in general appear to break down frequently. The problem with my last one (a fifferent brand, another manfacturer) is that I notived the back facing the wall was becoming hot. I did not have it close to the wall. It just started to overheat. So I deemed the old one a fite hazard, threw it away, and got this replacement. Hope it lasts

Nice compact, small space microwave
I have a very compact kitchen space and needed something SMALL that would fit above the stove. I was currently using a larger GE microwave and that worked really well but was way too large. After researching I found this one. As some people noted it is SMALL but that is in the product title, "compact". Yes it's tiny. If you have a tiny space this works. Inside of it, it fit my pasta bowl and plates so happy. I would recommend if you are looking for a compact one, read the measurements. This one fit the space really well and so far good.

Not Easy To Use
I'm giving it a three-star because it's the size I need and is nice looking. However this microwave is NOT easy to use. When I push the 2 button for two minutes of cooking, it shows FOOD on the screen. This stays for about a second and then goes away. I tried timed cook and push in 200 and it shows FOOD again This happens every time I use it. I have to unplug it, replug it, and then it works when I press the number 2. This is unacceptable. IF I have to do this every time I use the microwave, I don't want it. Fortunately, I kept the box. IF this keeps happening, I will return it. I'm hoping I can find an easy-to-read and understand manual. UPDATE: I finally figured out why the microwave wasn't starting. You have to push the button you want right after you close the door. You can't put the food in and wait around. I'm surprised this is nowhere in the instructions on reasons as to why the microwave isn't starting.

Not content with the function, and concerned
Microwave review. I know I am past the return option- I waited to open it and was out of town for a while, so that’s fair. But I believe it is important to put out my experience for anyone else’s information. Early on I wrote that I was concerned the even just heating up my coffee, the far back right corner of the top of the microwave would feel warm- no where else. Be aware, I have allowed much more that the required space all around the appliance. The response was that this was normal. Previous microwave must have been better insulated because that never happened, and it was a much higher power. A few time now I have encountered an issue putting in timed cook- I’ll start hitting numbers and the screen will just light up “food”. The first time this happened, it took a couple of times to get the input to clear. Had to totally back out (hitting pause/clear more than once). Most recently I cooked some ears of corn wrapped loosely in parchment (have done this before), had to break up the batch so didn’t do them all at once. Took out the first ones and put the next in as soon as oven was emptied. They cooked fine, but this time the entire top of the oven was warm. That is concerning- the first time it was three minutes for each of 5, so 15 minutes at full power. The second time it was 10 minutes- certainly nothing excessive. I called about a possible cookbook at one point, and was told you don’t supply one anymore, just the basic user’s manual, and that totally understandable, but there is no real chart for various foods and quantities, just the marked buttons for minimal help. All and all a disappointing result, and not comfortable trying to use the unit for the full range of possibilities it should have. Planning on buying someone else’s soon, but not even comfortable donating this for anything but absolute minimal use. Not a satisfied customer. G.C.Hirsch

Great little microwave. I had the same brand before and I love the array of functions and the small size .

faulty control panel with error message "Food"
Pros: this worked very well for the first few months it's the perfect size for a tiny kitchen with very limited counter space food got cooked well Cons: Very difficult to find product support from GE. I've had this about 8 months and recently encountered a problem: put food in the oven, select time, press Start - and a message appears saying "Food" - this has happened 3 times. I got it started again by unplugging it and leaving it unplugged for about 5-10 minutes, then trying it. I came upon this solution because the first thing to try is always "reboot" hahahaha. After a lot of searching to try to get customer support, I finally found a way to send an email and got a reply 4 days later. Basically they said to make sure there was food in the oven waiting to be cooked, and there was, to do exactly what I had already done. Then advised me to get service since it was possibly a faulty control panel. I had found a reference to doing that online and it said the cost for a service call is more than I paid for the oven. If I hear back from GE with another option to resolve this, I'll update this review.
