It's both router and modem. It has very good wifi signal.

How to connect if cable from outlet is not coax? i have rcn and the wire coming from the outlet is some weird wire, not ethernet, not coax?

If it is DSL, you need a special DSL modem. This modem won't work with DSL.

What are compatible range extenders with this router/modem?

i have used Netgear and foscam extenders with this modem, they both worked. before you hook an extender with this modem try it without extenders the wifi is very strong.

This have a coaxial connection port?
